I bought a used car which has an eclipse 7000 indash gps hdd and whatever else in it. I bought a new battery for the car and now I'm locked out of the unit. ie nothing works. I have no manual. What do I do now? I live sixty miles west of Houston Tx and do not know where the nearest shop is. Richard Joiner

the esn is only active if the previous owner activated it. the user would of used a CD to be a key cd and that is how they are unlocked. if the cd is lost or damaged, Eclipse can give a code to unlock it. However the original owner needs to have registered the deck with eclipse and have some kind of ID like mother maiden name. there is also a second registration that can be done. which an eclipse dealer can do, it is for used cars with eclipse radios, and things like that.
They can be real strict sometimes about giving out a code, and the authorized dealer has to be the one calling, and somtime that means a lot of time on hold.

Probably one of the lock switches, the switch you push or toggle from inside the car to lock or unlock your doors has shorted. Try manipulating those switches until the clicking stops. Replace the effected switch. If the doors automatically lock when the car begins moving above a certain speed, it could be that relay has shorted.

Most likely will need to get serviced.

a switch is broke on the bottom by the reset can i get it fix and were

chances are u will need new batteries, the average life span for this GPS's battery is 2 years.

try this:
• After it says “CALL 800” on screen
• Press and hold MAP and AV buttons at the same time
• While holding MAP and AV buttons, Press the
MENU button 5 times continuously
• Screen will show up with 6 digit security code
• Enter Unlock Code by using touch screen
• After entering the unlock code press ENTER on
screen

It may be a collapsed cell in the battery. try replacing the battery.

Does it turn on when connected to the charger?
if it completely deplketed the battery it will take a few hours to sufficiently recover to turn on. But i woulod try a new battery anyway
