Question about Maytag MDE3706 Electric Dryer
A home-made remedy that I have used in the past is to take a paint stir-stick and wrap it with duct tape, the reverse side or sticky side out. Tie a string onto the end of the stick in case you accidentally lose it. Place the sticky stir-stick into the trap and move it about as to collect the dirt on the bottom of the trap. Have fun!

Tips for a great answer:
Oct 06, 2014 | Dirt Devil Vacuums
Turn switch to OFF position.
Press button and slide latch towards outside of cleaner. Rotate dirt cup toward back of cleaner.
While holding dirt cup, grasp filter frame and lift out filter. Empty dirt cup after every use. Dirt cup can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Allow to dry thoroughly.
Pull middle section of filter out of filter frame. To remove debris from filter, tap it on a hard surface or brush it with a soft brush.
Remove lint, strings, etc. from the brush roll located on the underneath side of the nozzle.
Replace the brush roll when the brushes do not touch the edge of a card as it is moved across the opening on the bottom of the nozzle.
Further disassembly of the cleaner is not recommended. Hope this helps!
