Lexmark z2300m....black printing suddenly started streaking. Prints first 6 lines then streaks on rest of page. Nozzle cleaning and manual cleaning didn't help.

Your best bet is to buy new ink cartridges.

Ensure that the entire assembly is cleaned thoroughly though, just to be sure. Nozzle cleaning is rarely useful.

My printer is leaving horizontal streaks across

When I had the same problem, I found out, that Epson did not like Generic Ink. As soon as I replaced it with Genuine Epson Ink, it was fine.

Make sure you do Maintenance, Nozzle Check and Head Cleaning. You might be clogged?

Good Luck.

Faded-out streak

check your ink levels. if its the ink that came with the printer it is probable running out of ink. they do not give a full cartridge with printers, only about 3rd full. also try cleaning the heads. and try changing your printer settings/prefrences to less ink, more drytime see if that helps.

When I print photos, they have uniform vertical streaks.

Issue: Banded or streaked prints
Solution: Change the Print Quality Settings (Windows)

Change the Print Quality Settings (Windows) The Quality setting controls how finely ink droplets are placed on the printed page. Depending on the type of paper being used a higher Print Quality setting does not always insure a better print. Print speed will decrease as the Print Quality setting is increased. Follow the instructions below to change the print quality settings in the Canon printer driver for the Windows operating system through a printing application.
  1. Click 'Properties' in the Print dialog box.

Note: Depending on the Application software, 'Properties' may be displayed as 'Preferences'.

  2. Set the desired print quality in the 'Print Quality' section.

  3. Select 'High', 'Standard', or 'Draft / Fast'.
To set more detailed print quality settings, follow this procedure:
  1. Select 'Custom' and click 'Set'.

    win_main_print_quality.jpg

  2. In the Set Print Quality dialog drag the slide bar from 'Fast' to 'Fine' to select the print quality.

    win_print_quality_slider.jpg

Note: There are five options in 'Quality'. However, selectable options are limited depending on the media type.

  3. Select 'Auto', 'Dither', or 'Diffusion' from the 'Halftoning' section.

1. For Windows XP, select the Start menu -> Control Panel -> Printers and Other Hardware -> Printers and Faxes
2. Select your printer model name icon.
ters and Other Hardware
-> Printers and Faxes.
3.Open the File menu and select Printing Preferences.
The printer driver setup window appears.
4.Click Print Head Alignment on the Maintenance tab.
A message appears.
5.Set the paper thickness lever to the left, and load a sheet of A4 or Letter size plain paper into the auto sheet feeder.
6.Follow the instruction in the message.
7.The Print Head Alignment dialog box opens.
Select the numbers of the patterns with the least amount of streaking in the associated boxes.
Clicking the patterns with the least amount of streaking in the preview window, will automatically set their numbers in the associated boxes.
8.When you have entered all the necessary values, click OK

And that should do the trick for you.

Ink won't dry

Unless the problem coincides with a change in ink cartridge, my guess is an incompatibility between the ink and the paper. Could you have changed the paper you're printing on. If so, is the new paper of a different quality? If you're using coated (eg photo) paper, are you printing on the right side? Check the "paper quality" setting on the printer (or the software you're using to drive it) - it needs to match the specification of the stuff you're printing onto. Photo quality papers are capable of absorbing much more ink than plain paper (which is how you get the colour intensity). If the printer thinks it's using photo paper, it will throw out enough ink to get that colour build - leaving a sticky mess if what is really loaded is just plain paper. A.

My Canon i960 printer is printing red streaks on the pages

It's possible that the heads need to be replaced. That's one disadvantage to the printers that don't have the heads contained within the cartridge.
