Most of the time, those connections are on the bottom-right of the motherboard. Look carefully for markings or words.

Most often its like this
reset HDD POW
o o o o o o o o
o o o o o o o o
PW/SW

or somtimes its above like this

reset hdd pow
pw/sw

o o o o o o
o o o o o o

LOOK AT THE MARKINGS. HOOKING IT UP WRONG MAY CAUSE PROBLEMS

hookups are usually like this

o o o o o o
o o o o [o o]
PW/SW
hope this helps

I need help connecting the power on cable and led cable as well as the hard drive light cable. for my emachine w3644

These cables are attached in the lower right corner of the motherboard. There are two rows of pins there. Probably 10 pins in all. They should be marked with letters something like hdled (hard drive LED), pwr (power light) pwr sw (power switch) spk (speaker) etc. Anyway, if you can't find markings, hooking the little plugs up to sets of the pins one plug at a time will tell you which works. You can't hurt anything by trying various combinations

I have a PLE01 mother board and i need to plug in the hdd,ldd and ect plugs and i don't know how they go as i do not have the manual and cannot read the small print can u help

Today's motherboard are easy to setup because mostly are now color coded like those connection ports. All you have to do is place the cables according to their color coded ports. Connectors are easy to identified because they are also labeled with name. Like the picture below.

Connections ports on the motherboard are also labeled similar to the connector cables above or have a similar abbreviated names like PSW for Power SW.

I hope this could help you..
Please don't forget to rate. Thanks..

Problem with panel front conector in Dell Dimension 2200 motherbo

The following information is to assist you in performing the right connections. You should take precautionary measures such as grounding yourself and completely disconnecting the PC form any source of power.

This picture shows the connector for the front panel power button, reset button, and power and hard disk lights: an 8x2 pin connector with 1 pin missing:

The table below lists the pinouts for the connector. The orientation of this table is the same as the picture above, this shows the top part of the connector. All the pins below pin 8 appear to be non-connected.

Each pair of pins labeled Power and Reset goes to the 2 wires for the corresponding button. The hard disk and power LED wires connect to the corresponding LEDs, you need to ensure the proper polarity of the + and - wires for each LED or it will not illuminate.

The above information is for your information only.
