You will need to replace the battery pack. Depending on when your shaver was made, it may have one of two different battery types. You will ned to look inside to see which you need before ordering.

To open, remove the two round screw covers on the bottom of the shaver. Remove screws to remove bottom of shaver. The outer case will then slide off the bottom. Push the trimmer up to be abl to take the circuit board out. BE CAREFUL not to detach trimmer oryou will not likely get it back on yourself.
Your battery(s) will be one of the two types below found at shaveroutlet.com

Braun series 3 no longer holds a charge. what can I do?

It is not that young anymore. The rechargeable battery is (almost?) dead. It is almost impossible to replace it. I once tried it, took me more than a day yo put everything together and still it never was as before.
I have bought a new Braun (799) and I'm convinced this one will live longer. The rechargeable battery in this one, you can shave one hour before you need to recharge it. It lasts a week with me, or sometimes even longer, before I have to charge it again.

Perhaps you just use the shaver with the power cord, like we used to do for 20 years, and start saving for a new one?

I have a Braun 5550 electric razor that no longer holds a charge. i believe the battery can be replaced but I cannot see how to remove the battery. Can you advise?

You can repair the shaver by replacing the batteries only if the shaver still works. If the shaver no longer does anything...will not run and light does not illuminate when plugged it, the circuit board is now bad and can not be repaired.

To open the shaver, remove the two plastic screw covers on each side of the hole where the cord plugs in on the bottom of the shaver. Remove the two screws underneath. You can then slide the entire outer case off of the shaver. Be careful not to disturb the trimmer as it is extremely difficult to reattach. Inside, you will see a black inner cover. Unsnap to remove it and access the circuit board and batteries.

You will find compatible batteries at shaveroutlet.com. You need two. See link below for item and scroll down for helpful installation video

My Braun 7526 will no longer clip into the razor for cleaning and charging.

If the arm on the charging stand no longer locks down into place to charge the shaver, you will need to replace the arm or you can replace the entire charging unit. You will find both items at shaveroutlet.com. if the shaver is DEAD and the green light no longer illuminates when you plug it in, the circuit board is almost certainly bad. The circuit board will burn out if you run the shaver from the batteries for a long time after the batteries have stopped charing properly.
you can purchase a new circuit board which has the batteries alrady on it. it just needs to be dropped in place inside the shaver.
you will find this part at shaveroutlet.com. see link below

Sirs When charging razor #3 for first time, for over 4hours as stated by you. The razor is NOT fully charged. Could this be a faulty Braun?

Hello, typically when you charge a new electric shaver for the first time, it can take up to 10-12 hours for the batteries to get a full charge. Even then, it will take several charge - discharge cycles before the batteries are able to accept and hold a true, full charge.

With any battery appliance or tool, it is best to use the item until it is fully discharged or stops working and then allow the item to cool down for at least 30 minutes before recharging the battery device. If you follow that recommendation, you'll get a longer working life out of the batteries before they need to be replaced.

You can give the above a try and see if that helps get the shaver to take a full charge and go from there.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

My braun Flex 6520 does not turn on. When the cord is plugged in no red or green lights come on. Is this a costly repair? Would it be better to buy new as this razor is approximatley 5-6 years old?

The cost to repair this isn't going to be nearly as much as a new Braun shaver as nice as this one.

The problem is that your rechargeable batteries have become degraded to the point that they won't take and hold a charge. Because the batteries have become so degraded, that even with the power cord plugged into an outlet, you still can't use the razor solely on AC power either.

If you want to have the shaver repaired for you, you can contact www.electricshaver.com or give them a call at 1-888-476-1785 to get an estimate of the repair costs. Typically it takes about a week or less once they receive your shaver. They also stock most parts for many brands of shavers, including your Braun. I've used them for getting parts for several of my shavers and found them to be a very good company.

If you're handy and have a soldering iron you can disassemble the shaver and remove (unsolder) the bad batteries and solder in a new set. There are two small caps on the bottom of the razor that cover the screws that hold the body havlves together. Remove these with a small pick or small flat bladed screwdriver and remove the screws and carefully remove the body halves and that will let you get to the main board and the batteries.

Simply heat up your soldering iron and melt the end tabs off the batteries and remove them. Then solder in the new ones and make sure they are properly secured and have adequate solder on the tabs for a good connection. Put the covers back on and install the screws and and the caps and your all set for recharging the shaver. Let it charge for at least 8 hours and you should be all set!

So whether you decide to have the repair done for you, or do it yourself, I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

It sounds like your batteries are no longer able to hold a charge and are in need of replacement. With all rechargeable shavers, once the batteries are incapable of holding even a minimal charge, the shaver becomes unable to be used, sometimes even wih the power cord plugged into an outlet. My Braun shavers all worked for about a year after it would no longer operate on battery power alone, then the shavers all stopped working regardless of being plugged in directly to an outlet.

As you mentioned you are still under the warranty period, I would suggest you contact the company and request warranty service for your shaver.

if you weren't under warranty, I would advise getting the replacement batteries and doing a repair yourself.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Need to replace 5569 rechargeable batteries

If you are handy and know how to solder (and have the tools required), you can probably do the replacement yourself.

At the bottom of the razor are two plastic caps on either side of the charging port, you'll need to pry them out with a sharp pick or thin knive tip. Once removed, you can get to the screws that hold the front and rear case halfs onto the main shaver chassis where the PCB with the rechargeable battery is soldered onto the board.

Unsolder the battery and solder in the new replacement battery and put the case back together, making sure all the parts are in the correct posistion, and you're ready to recharge the shaver and start shaving again.

To find your replacement battery, try Electric Shaver Service. They also do repairs, so you might want to get an estimate if you don't want to do the repair yourself, etc. They're reliable and fast in getting shavers repaired and back to you quickly. 1-888-476-1785

Here's a link to the page with your battery on it and the toll free number to call for estimates too.
