Question about Acomdata (HD250UE5-72) (HD250UE572) 250 GB Hard Drive

Interface problem When I turn on the external hard drive, all I get is a repetitive blink of the red light (about every second) and the drive will not interface with the computer. Needless to say, the drive does not show up in my computer. Am I dead in the water???

I noticed quite a few people have a problem with their computer not recognizing the Acomdata drive. I wrestled with this for hours. I finally hooked it up to my wife's drive (same model as mine) and it recognized it on her computer. I pulled her electrical cord off of her computer and put it on mine.
Low and behond, it worked. All along it was the power cord adapter. Now I have to find where to locate one.

Hope this helps someone.

Red light on, but PC does not detect it

Remove the drive from the case and fit it to a new case. The interface in the old case has failed.

My Fantom II Hard drive only has a red light on

Sounds like the drive has gone faulty, all you can do is take drive out of case, get USB to HDD - USB "Dongle" and hook up HDD, and see if it works on PC & USB, If YES, then Case and interface are faulty, otherwise the HDD is faulty.

The front LED flashes red & blue when I turn it on. What does this mean?

LED Indicators - LaCie 2big Network
The LED indicators above the drive bays and the front LED indicate drive status and activity.
During Startup
  • Front LED – blinks red/blue until both disks are powered on, then turns solid blue.
  • Rear LEDs – blinks red/blue until corresponding disk is powered on, then turns solid blue.
NOTE: If the device is not able to initiate the boot process following disk startup, the front is solid red.
During Bootup
  • Front LED – solid blue
  • Rear LEDs – solid blue
NOTE: If a disk is failing, both the disk’s corresponding rear LED and the front LED will be solid red.
During RAID Synchronization
  • Front LED – solid red
  • Rear LEDs – The LED corresponding to the original disk will be blinking blue and the one being synchronized is blinking red
  • Once both disks are synchronized, their corresponding rear LED and the front LED will be solid blue.

If the noise is like a repetitive ticking or clicking. Well, the sorry to say that the hard drive had crashed... which makes the noise... And sorry to tell you that you cannot do anything but to buy another...
