Volume at very loud not max protect mode shuts off the amplifier

There is a possible poor air ventilation. Make sure the amplifier has plenty of free space around to ventilate. A good idea is to open the top cover of the amplifier and clean the inner heatsinks using air under pressure. Take care not to remove any cable connectors during this procedure. Keep in mind that using 2 pair of speakers always increase the amplifier temperature.

I purchased my subs in a bandpass box. The whole thing was preassembled. It was about 5 years ago that I bought my system. I had it in my vehicle for about a year, then had it in storage for the...

Hi there,

Chances are these are 12" in size (measure the diameter of the speaker - from one side to the next).

Usually, if subs come with a bandpass box, the box would have been measured for the correct air space.

However, if you want to know how to design your own enclosure then I will direct you to this web page, which can give you some basic understanding:

Hope this helps...

My refrigerator has been running quite a bit the last few days. The temperature for the refrigerator is ok but the freezer has been from 5 - 10 degrees instead of 0. I am not sure why this is happening...

HEAT AND HUMIDITY IS HARD ON THE FRIDGE , THE LESS YOU OPEN IT THE BETTER ,EMPTY MILK JUGS OR SEALED BOX HELPS TAKE UP EMPTY SPACE. THIS HELPS STOP THE DUMPING OF THE COLD AIR OUT OF THE FRIDGE/FREEZER EVERY TIME THE DOOR IS OPENED..
HEY IF'N I WAS OF HELP YA ALL HIT THAT THERE YONDER YES BUTTON, AND OR LEAVE A REVIEW.. THANKS ...JAY THE POOL PUMP MOTOR REPAIR GUY IN LONGWOOD FLORIDA

Fan runs but compressor does not come on or stay on long enough to reduce desired humidity level

Three things can cause the problem you're having:

1. A dirty or clogged air intake filter.

2. The humidity extraction level (percentage) is set to high. Lower it to 35%. Or minimal if you don't have an LED display.

3. Not enough clear air space around the unit. Maintain a minimum of 12" clear space around the entire unit.

Number 1, should become a part of a every two week routine maintenance program.

Hope this helped you solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

Does anyone know the actual airspace requirements for sealed and ported enclosures on these speakers? Please no idiots building cube boxes need to respond!

For optimal performance there is really only one size for the box .Firstly, you get two different types of subwoofers, an open air, or closed air sub. If it is an open air sub ( hole with mesh in the center of the magnet) no ports are required, and the box should be sealed on the inside with silicone sealant. If it is a closed air sub ( no hole in the magnet) you need a 50mm port about 120mm long. Box size will be 11 inches x 11 inches x 11 inches. Hope this helps

2 NTX-6812's. need box and amp.

if your subs are dvc 1000w max and 500rms wiring up to a 1 ohm load you would need a 1000w max 1 ohm stable amp. to put this in a pickup truck, i would not put them in a box, i would get 2 12inch tubes to put them in. cause a wedge truck box would make your system sound like garbage and will be distorted, your sql will be poor, basically you would need the right amount of air space for the subs.

I have a ntx-6810 wanted to know how many cubic feet i need to build a box. thanks for the help

For this sub the enclosure is pretty basic.

Sealed box- 2 ft cubed with a shared chamber would be fine. Can go smaller is you need the extra space. THe minimum requirment is .7 per sub.

Ported box- 3 ft cubed, with the port tuned to about 45 hz will work.. 45 hz isn't very low bass, but is at the very bottomn end of the frequency response for this driver. Also, if you are gonna run a ported enclosure, be ware of power handeling issus, and be careful not to over drive the woofer..800 watts rms for the pair on the high side.

DHD ntx6408 subs

Voice coil has been blown open. Most likely alot of times what I do to test a speaker is connect it to a 9 volt battery. on and off and the speaker should bounce. If not speaker is blown. Plus this way you could save yourself lots of problems. If the speaker was shorted and not blown open. You would now possible have a blown amp and home stereo.
