Hi,

You may have protected a block of images at some time, to release them do this:

Press the play mode button and then press the menu button.
Press the left/right button to select the [Protect] menu tab.
Select the desired sub menu [All Pics] by pressing the up/down button then pressing OK.
Zoom W/T Button: Protect/Release the images.
OK Button: Your changes will be saved and the menu will disappear.

Hope this helps.

When viewing pictures on playback some turn black and no image is available? Does anyone know why this happens? Thanks.

Hello SugarAlmonds,

If by that you mean some pictures are OK and some are blank/no image available... that usually happens when the pictures have been edited (could be accidentally by rotating it while viewing it) in a computer OR the pictures are not properly deleted. So, when viewing pictures from your camera to your computer, it is always better to copy all of them first to your computer then you can view/edit the copied files.

To correct the problem, copy ALL the pictures to your computer and then format your memory card using your camera.

Note: all pictures on your memory card will be deleted when you format it.

I hope this helped you.

I accidentally protected a picture on my camera nikon d60, how to unprotect it and delete it

There are 2 ways to do it. Firstly you can format the card - this will delete all images, including protected ones. Second method is to display the image in full frame view mode (or highlight it in thumbnail view) and then press the AE-L /AF-L button. This will remove the protection - or protect an unprotected image.
Hope that helps

Format, cant open photos, cant take photos

Hi there.
The camera is asking you to format the camera card.
If you have any pictures you want on the card, connect it to a PC and transfer the data from it, then put it back in the camera and do what it asks you too do.

Thanks for choosing FixYa!!

Sounds like you will need to format the memory card. This will permanently erase all the data from the card and then you will be able to use it again. To format the card: Press the Menu button - right arrow to Setup - right arrow to format option. You will see format yes or no. Choose Yes and press ok. This will clear the write protect message and the card can be used again.

Write protect message appears on screen

Sounds as if the memory card may be corrupted. In order to remove the write protect, make sure you have downloaded and saved all of the images from the memory card to your computer and then having the card in the camera you will need to run the format option and this will permanently remove the write protect as well as all of the images from the card.
The card should be able to be used again after the write protect is removed.

Picture format

The HD reciever shouldn't be the problem.

If you recieve an image with a 4:3 aspect ratio, the image will be displayed at that ratio on your HDTV unless you specify otherwise. To do so go to your TV's Setup screen

setup
Choose picture formats
select smooth wide as your default

***Some digital (ATSC format) stations may transmit 4:3 images in a way that will not allow expansion. You will be unable to adjust the picture format.

Hope this helps!!!

Problem with deleting photo from memory card

If the image has not been "Protected" to prevent erasure it sounds like it has become corrupted on the card. Suggest you save all images you wish to keep to your computer then Format the card (Erases ALL images) in your Camera. Hope this solves the problem.

No images

Look in Explorer at the .jpg files on your card to make sure they have information in each file. Next, make sure your software is set to view .jpg files,i.e. Faststone Image viewer (download.com) can be set for virtually any image format. If you viewed the images on the lcd monitor they were on the card at that time. Make sure you haven't somehow protected those image files or have accidentally reformatted it.
