Hooked up , its in black and white. do i have to have internet for it to work

Your problem is where the AV cables(Yellow, white and red) are plugged. Try around with the different place to plug them in, or look at your tv's manual. You don't need internet for the color to be normal.

Black, white, red, wires on motor and the connect

White is always neutral so I am going to say hook it to brown, unless you have another white wire.

Black on a motor is usually high speed, so hook it to black
Red is usually low speed to hook it to yellow. If you do not get
high speed then hook black to yellow and red to black

When I shut down the Wii Console, the light changes only to yellow, only after I unplug the power cord and plug it back in does the red light come on.

It means you're in Standby mode (WiiConnect24 is on). When WiiConnect24 is on and you only briefly press POWER, it goes to yellow so you can still recieve WiiMail and other internet-related stuff while the Wii is off. If you HOLD it, though, it turns off for real. There's nothing wrong with this, so don't change anything.

I recommend only holding it as a last resort, like if it freezes.

When WiiConnect24 is off, though, it won't turn yellow, just red. KEEP WIICONNECT24 ON.

Hope this helps.

Yellow light on wii

It's just the way the wii works. Hold the power button for about 5 seconds and the power button will go red and turn off instead of going yellow and going into standby mode.

My nintendo wii power light is yellow

The wii power light is yellow because you have wiiconnect24 turned on in the wii system options. Wiiconnect24 constantly keeps your wii connected to the internet by staying in a low power mode, if you receive any messages while int his mode the disk opening will flash blue. If you don't want this option just go into the wii systems settings and turn it off. If you wish to have it but want to turn it fully off just hold the power button on the main console until the power light turns red.

Yellow light will not shut off now with internet connected

The yellow light is on because you have wiiconnect24 switched on. It keeps an internet connection so you can still receive messages while the wii is turned off. Just go into wii system settings and switch off wiiconnect24.

I purchased a wii machine and can't figure out how to set it up.

to hook up the wii, plug the censor bar into the back of the wii and the a/v jacks into the tv/vcr/dvd player(line the colors right(red with red, white with white and yellow with yellow))and connect the opposite end into the wii. Then take the power box(big gray box with outlet cord attached) and plug it into the back of the wii and wall, turn on and play some great games

Wii standby light

To be precise, you can turn this option off from the Wii System settings -> Wii Connect 24 -> standby connection -> off

When this setting is swiched to off, your console shuts down entirely and there is a RED light on the power button. There will be no need to turn off the console pressing the power button.
