There can be several reasons your computer is slowing down when composing email.

1) If you have an anti-virus program (like Norton) running in the background and it is performing a scheduled scan:

2) Multiple Tabs open in your browser;

3) You have multiple applications open on your computer;

4) Your computer needs to be 'cleaned' and the registry checked.

a.) (I highly recommend Registry first Aid from Rose City Software.) Click here for the trial version: http://registry-repair-software.com/download/rfasetup.exe

b.) Clean / Remove old unwanted files on your computer:
On your computer, go to: Start > All Programs > Accessories > System tools folder > Disc Cleanup
(and run disc cleanup).

5) Your computer may need more RAM. To determine how much RAM your computer has and if you can add more, I recommend you go to 4allmemory. Click here: http://www.4allmemory.com/

and click on the: 'Check my System' button. This will temporarily install a small program that checks for the amount of memory in your computer - and is completely safe to use.

If this information was helpful, please give me a 4 Thumbs-up when you rate my answer. Thanks.

I am new to Yahoo and I cannot seem to attach anything. It just sits there saying that it needs time. I never had this problem with Comcast. What do I need to do t resolve it?

Yahoo Mail is a Web-based email program that is provided for free by Yahoo.
Anyone can sign up for the service to send and receive emails from friends and family.
Yahoo places restrictions on the size and type of attachments that can be sent and received when using Yahoo Mail.
Any email attachment that contains a virus, is too large or doesn't meet the file type requirements may be blocked by Yahoo.
Virus Scanner

Yahoo Mail scans each attachment that arrives or departs from your inbox with Norton AntiVirus.
If the virus scanning software detects a virus within an attachment, Yahoo will warn you and attempt to clean it.
Yahoo does not promise that every virus will be detected or cleaned by the Norton AntiVirus software.
Only accept attachments from people you know and trust.
Don't attempt to open blocked attachments if it is known to harbor a virus.
Large Attachments
Attachments exceeding 25 megabytes will not attach to an email.
Multiple attachments that exceed 25 megabytes will also be blocked by Yahoo Mail.
Once your attachments reach 25 megabytes, you will no longer be able to add any additional attachments.
If you have many attachments to send that exceed 25 megabytes, send several emails to send all of the attachments.
If you are receiving attachments, let the sender know that you are unable to receive any attachments larger than 25 megabytes.
Slow Connection Speed
It may appear that Yahoo is blocking your attachments if you have a slow dial-up connection because they may never appear to load.
Yahoo isn't actually blocking the attachment, the connection is just very slow.
A 25 megabyte file could take over an hour to download with a 56K dial-up connection.
Your computer may go to sleep or the download may be even slower if you surf the Web while your files upload.
File Type
Only certain file types can be sent using Yahoo Mail.
Yahoo Mail allows you to add audio files, images, HTML files, word processing documents, spreadsheets and many other types of files as attachments.
Some documents are not supported, but you can send unsupported file types by renaming them, including them in a RAR or ZIP archive, creating a Word document with the file, sending the file through Yahoo Messenger or you can upload the file elsewhere and send a link to the file via email.

When i want to forward an e-mail it no longer shows the adress from my contacts when i type in the first letter. how do i fix tis???

Hi, this seems to be an attempt by Yahoo to get more people to try their Beta version of the new Yahoo! Mail. In the standard mail, like you have, typing in the first letter or letters no longer brings up the contacts. You have to click the "To" button to select your contacts, or type in the whole email address.
But if you try the Yahoo! Mail Beta, you can still type in just the first letter and it will bring up the contacts with that letter, just like before. If not having that functionality is a major hassle, I'd advise switching to the Beta mail. (There is usually a link on the lower right side of your mail inbox somewhere.) If you don't like the Beta version, you can easily switch back to standard Yahoo! Mail.

Yahoo mail is VERY slow

I am a Computer Software Expert. I believe that Yahoo! has lately made silly mistakes in their Yahoo! Mail in software/hardware side. The Mail is extremely slow even I have a super computer. This problem is Yahoo! Mail's problem; it has nothing to do with your PC as anyone uses it will suffer nowadays. In the past, it was nice and fast. Now it is Yahoo! Garbage Mail, so they should change the name!
