could be a couple things first thing to check would be the drive couple if you can hear the motor running this is usually the first thing to go because in the factorys they purposely install this piece as 100 percent plastic and it should only last about 2 years from the factory date its the piece that connects you motor to the trasmission please write back with your model and model numer and check the drive couple first and get back to me please remember to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation and if i can answer any further questions please write me back thanks again

Fills with water does not wash on wash cycle makes a sound like the engine is running but no movement, wont wash or spin.

bad drive couple costs about 10 bucks most techs charge between 159-189 to replace takes about 15 minutes to replace it you can order the part from marcone appliance parts and they will mail the part directly to your door first thing to do is remove the cover and check to see that it is the drive couple with the machine unplugged and the cover off feel in the back of the motor in between the motor and the transmission for a rubber disc and try to spin it if the motor spins but the trasmission doenst then u have a bad drive couple hope this helps

It will wash & ranch but want spin out the water but drain it out.

tip unit back and lean against the wall so you can look under it.
check your drive coupler
take the pump off 2 clips push up on the top one and down on the bottom one.
take your motor down usually 2 clips and 2 screws
now on the other end of the motor you will see an attachment that is your drive coupler it's probably broken.the other side sits on the the rubber ok? is the plastic ears ok?
if the answer is yes you may have a bad clutch whisch sits above the transmission.
if you have a bad clutch you are going to have to take the agetator off first..before dropping the trasmission.
First check the drive coupler part number for that is 285753a

Whirlpool mod#LLR6144AQO electrical issue

If you have power at the console where the power cord connector connects to the harness then make sure all wire harness connections to the timer are tight. If so, then something must have happened to the timer as nothing else will keep the machine dead in fill and spin.

Kenmore washing machine

Hi heatherrosco,
If your washing machine will wash but not pump out or spin then you have a bad lid switch. The lid switch can be checked by poking a ink pen down into the hole on the top of the tub while the machine is turned on and in the spin setting. If you poke the switch and it does not spin or pump out the water the switch is bad. If the machine will not wash or spin and will only fill and pump out then you have a bad motor to trasmission coupling. These can be purchased at any appliance repair center for about $15.00 The coupling will go between the motor and the transmission and act as a shock absorber. It is a fairly simple repair for either part, please let me know what you find and I will be happy to tell you how to complete the repair. If you need the parts I can also ship it straight to your door and give you advise over the phone while you install. Good luck on your repair and remember I am here to help. Trouble shooting a washing machine is easy but you have to know the sistem first if the washine machine take water wwell but dont do nothing eals could be a couple of things. The water level switch send curent to the water selenoids when the maching is empty then when the level of water reach the selected level the presure of the water active a presure swithc and the curent go to the timer there the timer send the curent to the motor, as you can see there are a procedure that you have to know to repair a washin machine and some instrument to trace continuity and curent warning disconect the machine frome ac outlet befor service .....good luck and rate me if you survive this riskey adventure...
