Copier not working in color

When copping in color the first 3 inches is in different shades of brightness. The last part of the printed page is all one drab slightly gray scale. etc a white background is now gray three inches from top to the bottom of the page. As if the lamp is in dimmer mode

    not the ink, the scaning is the problem, even when viewing image on the computer. has the various shading issue. printing is not the isue. printing works great. if the image comes from the computer, ex. a web sight print screen

    copy in color gives varring shades, copy in black and white has no noticeable problems. that is copy direct to paper or copy to save in computer same results

    this can be used as a stand alone copier, needs no software or computer atached, to copy. somthing in the color recognition in the scaner?

Sounds like a jobg for copier man.

at any rate, you'll find that most likely your cartridges are leaning towards empty, check em first.

    ahhh..that's different...so, you're copying and scanning are off..you may need to re install the entire printer manager software, since that's what makes this the case..what happens when you do a simple copy to paper in color?

    ok..so the printer/copier software, seems to be having some problems interpreting color...hmmm...if the black is good(black being all colors) then there's something else afoot.

    delete the printer and software, and re install fresh from online drivers/software..

    yes that makes sense...and the color sensors are intrinsic to the design...

Grey shading likely due to either bad black cartridge. Try a different cartridge first thing. After that, print a PQ quality test page from the control panel to see if they defect shows on all pages. If it does then you may have a bad transfer belt.

Yes absolutely the PCU problem, contact your nearest shop to check the PCU before anything will happen to your printer.

Please rate me solved you decide to check the PCU. Don't look for another solution because I got already the right answer which already suspected at your own guest.

My HP CP2025 printer will not print color text and color shading in Word. It prints color photos, pdfs, and paintbrush files, but will not print color in Word or Word Perfect.


I had this problem on Windows 7 64x.

The solution that finally worked for me:
1. Go to your Devices & Printers window. (from the Start menu)
2. Right-click on your HP CP2025 printer and select Printer Properties.
3. Select the Device Settings tab.
4. Scroll to the bottom where you see Device Type. It probably says "Auto Detect."
5. Click on the words "Auto Detect" to activate a drop-down menu. Select "Color". Click the Apply button.

To test if this fixes your color printing, go to the General tab and click the Print Test Page button at the bottom. The page should print the Windows logo in color at the top of the page (the rest of the page is b&w).

Note: I did not install any additional drivers from HP for this printer. Windows automatically detected it and installed HP's Universal Print Driver PCL 6.

Won't print words!


sounds like a couple of things....
the document program your using, when printing, check to see what is printing (pages) you can select one, current page or multiple. also check the attributes for printing.
check the settings for the printer, you might be out of ink
lastly, in the document, go to the Page File and scroll down to see if the shaded areas need to be 'set to back'

My f340 all in one printer-scanner and copier, is copping very slow from the start copy


Hi theodo13
If your document has typing and line drawings only the printer will priint according to the speed they claim to have.
However if there are few photos, scanned images or color shadings, the printer becomes very slow.
Try to print a page of typed text only, then you will know there is actually a problem with the printer.

Problem with printing smoothly


Hi morshi. I found a potential solution to your problem with your 5610 printing vertical lines at HP.com:

It's hard to tell from the rest of your message what other problems you're describing. I did find a troubleshooting page at HP that shows how to address general print quality problems:

Shading with a black cartridge will be different than shading with a color cartridge. Replace the black cartridge with a color, and things should return to normal.

On the re-fill cartridge, replace it with a new OEM cartridge, and if that works, the refil is defective.
