I have a DELL 968 printer. Initially I was getting an error message "printer carrier stall". I was told to clean the encoder strip by using a lint free cloth. I have done this, but there is still...

1).check the conectivity for carrage cable if you found a any point is brocken then you should have to change the carrage assembly(cartage cardel),.
2).if after clining of encoder stripe its stucking to right or left side then change the encoder stripe.
3).check the logic card connection and if needed make dry soldring.

How do i change my lexmark x4650 print cartrige?

Installing/Replacing your ink cartridges:
1. Open the printer, and then press down on the cartridge carrier levers. printmastert_52.jpg

2. Remove the used print cartridge or cartridges. 3. If you are installing new print cartridges, remove the tape from the back and bottom of the color cartridge, insert the cartridge in the right carrier, and then close the color cartridge carrier lid. 4. If a black cartridge is included in the box contents, remove the tape from the back and bottom of the black cartridge, insert the cartridge in the left carrier, and then close the black cartridge carrier lid. 5. Close the printer.

Sometimes the ink cartridge carrier won't automatically move to its loading position even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Follow the steps below:

1. Unplug the printer from the power source.

2. With the cover open, hold the solid white strip that connects from the carrier assembly to the ink cartridge carrier and gently slide the cartridge carrier to the center of the printer.

3. Remove the used cartridges.

4. Load the new cartridges. Close the cover.

5. Plug the printer back to the power source.

Hi Can you help... we have the hp 450c and the media will not load, the cartridge, data, and media light stays on and then when you hit cancel the align media light stays on. Thanks Jill

This is an old posting so you probably have come right already (or thrown the plotter away) This fault is one of two things, firstly it's probably the carrage is likley sticking, clean the bar (silver bar( that runs from left to right with turpentine or spirits, you then need to lubricate it with sewing machine oil or similar. Spread the oil evenly across the bar by moving the carrage by hand left and right, use no more than two drops of oil. Also chack the condition of the belt and make sure it is in good condition. Secondally it could simply be a faulty black cartrige, try and replace and see what happens.

Dave

HP 755 CM CARTRIDGE MISSING ERROR

This normally points to a worn ribbon on the carrage. Make sure the ribbon where the cartrige makes contact is really clean, if cleaning make sure the plotter is turned off. Sometimes a build up of ink can cause problems. The bad news is that if the ribbon on the carrage is worn it firstly comes with the carrage as a unit, and secondally the carrage is no longer available from HP

Epson SX200 Can't get the ink carrage to addopt change position

i had the same problem as this.

the manuel told me to put the ink in the printer before i had installed it, this however seems impossible.

instal your printer first. when it is instaled go to printer settings, then click on maintenance, then click on the option that says ink cartridge replacement. Follow the instructions and this will bring the cartridge to the change position!!

failing this you can unplug your printer quickly after you turn it on when the cartridges move, then you can manualy move into position. Not sure how good for your printer this is, but it works.

Cartridge jam won't clear HP 5610v

I had the same problem and just got it to work. go to
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00577763&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&rule=22243&product=441125

go to the section "Moving the carriage" turn on printer and then unplug power. If you still cant move the carrage then remove both toner cartridge and all the trays. Then completely disconnect printer and stand it upright (so paper feed and cartridge tray is on top) Look thru the paper feed area to the left side of toner carrage and you will see a little plastic tab around the bottom back of the carrage. That tab is suppose to be inside a track on the bottom of the carrage. I think that when we put in or took out toner we must have pushed it to hard and that piece jumped out of the track and has "locked" the carrage. I just pushed the carrage up carefully and used a letter opener to move the plastic tab back into place (tab is spring loaded) print working fine now. Hope this solves your problem
