Question about Bose Wave radio remote control - Graphite Gray Shelf System

2 Answers

Actually, It's not really broken, it just is not working acceptably. When the rario turns on in the morning(6:15AM), it is noisy and acts like it is not tuned to EXACTLY the right frequency(99.5 MHz). My wife calls it static. It's noise that tracks the signal. when there is a voice speaking. the noise is amplitude modulated along with the amplitude of the voice. This condition is worst when the radio has just turned on and get somewhat better over time( but not guickly) It still exists after an hour or two. My guess is that something in the tuning circuits is warming up (very slowly) Having been affected by the low over-night temperature) (around 60 degrees F) Joe Fisher, Sudbury, MA this is a pretty old radio: S/N 02533xxxxxxx!( more than 10 years)

You might give Bose a call on their 800 number; in my experience they have been very forthcoming with customers.
There is a slight possibility that the drift is caused by an aging main power supply that isn't regulating as well as it should.

Have you tried using an antenna to get a better signal. How does it act with strong local stations? Warm-up is a feature of the old days - tube electronics.

I've had balance problems on other cars and I'm 99.9% sure it's not a balance problem. It's not acting the same. It's too noisy - relative to the shifting of the engine. Any other suggestions, please keep...

Turn off your A/C. Compressors can sound like stone crushers. Have you checked the trans fluid? With motor off, grab fan clutch and water pump pully, really all pullies should be checked for looseness.
Have you checked the lugnuts?
