Question about HP Designjet 4000ps InkJet Printer

2 Answers

I have an older printer a hp deskjet 845c series. It worked perfectly until I changed the ink cartridge. For some reason the red light on the paper icon keeps blinking and the printer no longer works. I have changed this cartridge many times with no problems. I tried reinstalling the printer, unplugged it to try and reset with no success. Can you help? Thanks!

I have to ask this question of you, just to make sure this is not an issue. Are you using a factory new ink cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using factory new cartridges, then please call the manufacturers Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges

My hp deskjet 845c won't print pink. I've tried two different ink cartridges and no pink ink. Is my printer probably on it's last leg? I have also tried cleaning the print heads...didn't help.

Are you using HP factory new cartridges?

If you are using third party or worse, refilled cartridges, that may well be the cause of your proiblems.

It was suggested that I buy a new printer cartridge for my HP Deskjet 845c rather than use a refill, which causes the cartridge light to blink. I did go out and buy new cartridges for both color and black...

i dont know if anyone has logged this, but i would think that logically the lights would continue to blink until it detects the right amount of ink density and If they are chipped that the chip registers correctly. Ttry installing just one of the cartridges ( the cheaper one)

It probably has, the printer might not detect your cartridges properly, try using new ones

Hp 845c orange light keeps flashing

When the orange light is flashing, either paper jam or ink problem is happening.Try unloaging & reloading the stack of paper in the main tray. Remove & reinsert ink cartridges in the printer. You may also clean the contacts of the cartridge and inside the product.

845c deskjet

Unfortunately blank pages on this model 99.999999% of the time are because of the ink cartridges. Whether they are empty or just dried out. Try taking the cartridges out and pressing the bottom of some paper towel. For the black you should see 2 unbroken black lines about 3/4inch long and for the colour you should see 3 lines (Blue, Red and Yellow) about 1/3inch long. If not then your ink is not flowing (quite likely). You can try and get the cartridges going again with various head cleaning methods or just replace them.

Hp Deskjet 845C - Yellow Colour not Printing

I found this post to work for me when yellow was not printing on my HP PSC750 after using 2 cartridges: "Well if you want to damage your printer use alcohol. But if you want to make it work then pull the cartridge from the printer and run hot water on a couple of paper towels leaving alot of hot water in the towels. Put some thing under them to keep them from staining your counter top and then set the cartridge down onto the hotwater towel and let the hot water melt away the dry ink and in minutes you may be printing again if this is what it is. Be sure and use a dry paper towel to wipe off the ecess wet before you reinstall the cartridge."
