How do I adjust the blades or sharpen blades on a Andis T-Outliner trimmer? I have some older blades that work farely better then my newer blades that are dull if you ask me. Is there some way to manuver the blades to make coil go faster? Are there sharpeners on the market to purchase to sharper Andis blades?

Clipper blade sharpeners are availale but the cost of these typically start at about $300 and go as high as several thousand dollars. This makes it unaffordable for home use.
For affordable, professional clipper blade sharpening, I suggest you contact the folks at clipperparts.com

Your clipper moves at just one speed. There is no way to 'speed it up' if it is working correctly.

Remove the two screws that secure the blade to the trimmer. Once you've removed the blade turn it over and remove the smaller piece, which is the cutting blade. Now you will see a brown colored plastic piece being held on to the blade by two screws; loosen these screws but do not remove them. Now the brown piece they are holding will be adjustable; move it up to make the clipper cut closer, down to make it cut less. Do not adjust it do that the cutting blade teeth position is up further than the stationary blade( upper blade), teeth or else you will hurt somebody. Best way to do it is to make the blade teeth on each blade even with the other. Tighten screws and replace blade.

Brand new andis trimmer pulling hair and not cutting good

The questions about Andis T-Outliner or Andis Styliner II, about not cutting or pulling hair.
On the Andis T-Outliner trimmer if the sharpness of the blade is worn out, all the tricks and treats won't make this blade to cut hair. Before I do any kind of work to the trimmer, I first test the coil for the right amount power, I can get out of the coil, without this power, it doesn't matter how new or old the trimmer is, the trimmer will not cut hair at all. If the coil is good, I will sharpen the blade and set it according to your needs (lineups or shave setting) after the blade is sharpened and set. The trimmer will need to be, adjusted for alignment to the blade, adjust the power of the coil, and adjust the tension for the blade. All these factors are involved in the Andis T-Outliner to cut hair clean especially lineups or shaving. These adjustments work together for the trimmer to work properly. I know that we all trying to save money, which is part of life, but sometimes frustration will take over and say hell with it, I'll buy another or forget it. Manufactures make mistakes, sometimes the trimmer was not sharpened or adjusted correctly. Any case, what I'm trying to say here, if you try all the tricks & treats and can get your trimmer to work, it may be easier for you to send it to a professional to sharpen & repair the problem and set the blade according to your needs (lineups or shave setting) We specialize on Andis T-Outliner Trimmers. My t outliner is cutting dull and keeping alot of noise

When was the last time you had this trimmer service by a professional, also these type of trimmers need to be adjusted more often than any other trimmer. if your are barber you know that the trimmer is working hard every day. without the proper sharpening equipment or tools need to do the adjustment. You really can't solve the problem. I will tell what wrong, the coil needs to be adjust to the magnetic shunt arm for voltage and the blade needs to be sharpen and place on the trimmer and adjust according to power add to the trimmer.

Want to adjust trimmer so i give a better outline i just bought new blades, not sharp enough

Sometimes the new blades are not sharpen enough, You need to have it resharpen by a professional and adjust to the type of work you want it to do. Also sometimes even if you have the blade resharpen it will not cut, because the trimmer motor needs more power to move the blade side to side faster. On and the Andis GTO T-outliner trimmer this the most comm problem. Try Mannys Sharpening

Adjust blade

On the Andis T-Outliner or Outliner if you have use the trimmer for more than 3 hair cuts or 3 time or more I do not recommend moving the blade, reason why is that you have all ready start or have a sit in or a grooved, I have found that by moving the blade it won't cut at all.You need to resharpen the blade with a professional sharpener and have them reset the blade for the type of hair cut you want. The blade can be set to shave or do line ups, and Fades. This type of trimmer is for that kind of hair cut the professional barber use them all the time. Call Mannys Sharpening 323 263-4697 They have a good rating on Yahoo Local.
I have try many sharpener and had no luck, until a friend of mind told me about Mannys Sharpening, They know what they are talking about highly Professional in thier work.
