Ice and water doesn't work. Sometimes it works on the first try, other times it takes 5 to 10 times before anything comes out.

Water and ice are working some of the time. The bin is full of ice so i know I am getting water. Lately it takes 5 to 10 pushes on the lever before it works. Other times it works on the first try.

    Where is the actuator ?

Hi.

If both dispenser and icemaker are not working, that means that either the water lines are frozen, or that there is a fault concerning the main water inlet.

First you can check if the problem is water freezing inside the lines, by defrosting the appliance completely, or by using an hairdryer on cold on the lines to dispenser and ice maker. Disconnect power first.

Then you can check the water outlet valve. This is located at the back of the fridge, were the water hose is connecting to the appliance.

The water valve is tested reading impedance on its contact to find out if the solenoid circuit is open or close. If it reads open, then the valve must be replaced.

The water valve is part 800 on diagram below, click on the picture to enlarge:

Here the part WATER VALVE (Double Outlet Water Valve).

Here all parts and diagram for the model listed.

In that case check the SOLENOID ASM (Solenoid Assembly) . The solenoid is tested using a multimeter set on Ohms, at Rx1.

Disconnect power, access and remove the solenoid.

Point multimeter probe on solenoid contacts.

If the solenoid returns infinity (circuit open), then it is faulty and must be replaced.

If the solenoid works some times, then rather than a bad solenoid , it can be a mechanical problem related to the actuator. In that case I should see personally the appliance to find out what is wrong with mechanics, all you can do is disassembling and checking parts with the aid of the diagrams (I assume you have training and technical experience if you decide to proceed).

Before ensure that the water has not just low pressure because of a kinked hose, broken valve, or water freezing inside lines.

    Regards.

Check parts in the whole assembly numbered 900 on diagram below. A mechanical fault in there can cause the dispenser not functioning properly:

Before doing this you need to ensure it is not a valve or water lines problem.

There should be a plastice hinge cover on the left top hinge on freezer door. Take it off and press the plug together firmly. Try that and let me know, Sea Breeze

Emerson ice maker not freezing ice, making small cubes and they are soft and mushy.. seems to not freeze ice solid and takes forever to drop ice

When was the last time you cleaned it by running ice machine cleaner through it. After a period of time algea, or slime will form on the chill plate where the ice is made. Sometimes its invisible to the eye, but it doesn't mean its not there. When this happens the machine will freezse the water, and when the ice tries to slide forward to the cutting grid, it catches on the chill plate. There are no sensors in the machine to tell it that this is happening and so the machine moves forward and starts running more water across the plate, which in turn runs across the ice caught on the chill plate melting it and using it as a ramp to fall into the bin melting the ice there as well. So, try cleaning it before taking any further steps, then if the problem persist feel free to get in touch.

The water dispenser on my GE fridge, model bss25jsrss, doesn't work. There is water in the lines, and the lights in the front work, but when I try to get water or ice nothing comes out.

There is a simple switch behind the push lever which activates the water/ice dispenser circuit. Sometimes these switches are poorly engineered to the lever with an adhesive or plastic rod which will break away. This is the first place I would look for a culprit.

I recently replaced my water filter on my Kitchenaid side-by-side refrigerator, model KSCS251, and since then my icemaker no longer makes ice, nor do I hear any water flow into it. The water, however, does...

Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. It's on the back where the water supply comes in. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips

The ice maker isn't working. There is no water in the line.

I have a similar problem for my LSC27911ST. There is no water coming out from the dispenser, although ice maker seems to be working.

I didn't do anything other than keep trying water dispenser in hope that water can be drawn out from the inner pipes.

After opening the freezer door a number of times, tried dispense ice and then tried dispensing water a number of times, eventually water come out again.

Maybe the water line in the refrigerator was frozen. It is very hot today, and maybe the refrigerator over work too much.

Water wont go all the way into the ice maker

The water inlet valve on the back of the unit where the water supply comes in can have a slow leak and will cause ice to buildup and block the fill tube. Disconnect the ice maker line from the valve and watch to see if it has a slow drip. It doesn’t take much to eventually block the fill tube.

632 sub 0 and not making ice

The only way is to take a hair dryer and try and defrost it. Sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't depending on how frozen it is. Just be careful not to melt the line.

We have a Maytag MSD2754ARA refrigerator and heard water leaking under it last night. We checked and it is coming from the line connected to the icemaker. The line inside is frozen solid. I have read that...

You'll need to first defrost/thaw the freezer and the water line in order to get water flowing again. This can take some time, so you might want to shut off the ice maker by lifting the ice maker bin arm, which will stop it from cycling/calling for more ice to be made.

You can try to thaw the line by using a household hair dryer, but unless you have only a small area of the water line frozen, it could take some time. That is why it is best to empty the fridge/freezer and keep the doors open and the unit off to allow for a complete defrosting of the unit. Have towels, sponges and buckets handy to get all the water.

It sounds like it could just be the frozen water line, but until you thaw it out, you can't really determine if that's all it is.
