Question about Dell Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have Dell V505w wireless printer. It has worked fineuntil I replace my router with a new one. Now I can't scan anything to my computer. The orange light on printer blinks, indicating the printer is configured, but unable to communicate with the wireless network. Any suggestions what I need to do to correct my problem. -Robert

Either set the new router to the old router's IP, SSID, channel, key, etc. Or set the print server to the new router's network, SSID, channel, key, etc.

I keep getting a message that says "wireless

The printer has the capability of making a "wireless" connection to your wireless router,
so that you can print to the printer from any computer connected (either with an Ethernet cable, or wirelessly) to your router.

Scan from printer through router to pc?

You will need to use the TWAIN software for the printer. From the computer you will be running the scan options thru the TWAIN software. Then the scan files will be pulled from the printer back to the computer. Running scan options directly from the printer will give you the option to print the scan files or send them to a memory card if your printer has a slot for one. If the scanning software is not installed on your computer then you will need to download it from the manufacturer's website.

Lose wireless connection when the phone rings...

You won't have to buy a new adapter as long as the new router uses the same standard (i.e. 802.11b, g or n).
