Click on the picture viewer button and then hit the zoom button right next to it. Hit the trash button on the front of the camera. A screen will appear allowing out to choose All In This Folder. Choose that to remove all pictures from the camera.

On the 700 you have to use the zoom control to bring up thumbnails to do a multiple delete -forgot exact order of events but on playback or after you hit delete to move zoom controler and that puts it into thumbnail view

Hello!

You can do that by formatting you disk, but all picture will be deleted.

Also when connecting to computer you delete all files by browsing the drive detected in the camera. you can simply browse it by going to the my computer and select the drive where camera created and delete all files there.

best regards, melnavz

IF YOU HAVE A MEMORY CARD, YOU CAN DELETE IT THROUGH YOUR COMPUTER OR YOU CAN CONNECT YOUR CAMERA TO THE COMPUTER AND DELETE THEM FROM THERE.

Yes you can, and I do it all the time. I copy the pictures to "My Pictures" folder. If you OPEN the DCIM folder by clicking on it, then SELECT ALL, then choose copy. Now close your camera folder. and OPEN "My Pictures" and then choose PASTE, all your pics should be inserted into "MY PICTURES". The reason your pics are deleted even after you've renamed them is because your OS is only copying them as shortcuts. If you don't want to copy or paste, next time you try to save one of your pics, hold down the shift key while dragging your pic to your folder and it won't move it as a shortcut. Hope this helps.

I have a Coolpix L100 that has around 800 pictures on it. I do not want to delete these pictures from the camera itself. However, every time I try to upload my newest pictures to my HP it automatically...

First of all, the pictures are not on the camera, they are on the memory card. It is not a good idea to keep that many pictures on the card for an extended period of time since they could be corrupted over time. If they are safely on your computer, you should consider backing them up to a CD or a DVD. Now to the downloading question....you could get an inexpensive card reader. You plug your card in one end and the USB end into your computer. When it opens, you can select only the newest pics and drag and drop them into a folder you create on your desktop. Once there, you can send them anywhere on your computer you prefer such as "My Pictures". typrice_211.jpg

When I go to upload my pictures to my computer, it tells me the some pictures are already in my address book, not sure what that is, but all the pictures are new. It uploads maybe 2/3 of the new pictues...

Personally I wouldn't be using the camera software if it's deleting images without the command to do so.

What you can do is purchase a card reader with multiple memory card ports that way when you do get another camera the reader will have the port for the memory card.

Anyway the reader plugs into a USB port on your computer and looks at the reader as an external hard drive (Mass storage device) Depending on your operating system you should have an application called "My Documents" Open a new folder I generally use the date and img. then insert the memory card into the reader and the computer will either bring it up on the desk top as a hard drive or you may need to co fetch it in "My Computer" (I don't know your system) once that's done you can open the picture files copy and paste them into the new folder. Then you just need to open your camera software program and click on open and go to that file.

Once you have your pictures secured on the computer Hard Drive then format the memory card.

Formatting clears all the surface and makes the memory card ready to accept new picture data.

I suspect you have been deleting pictures and deleting pictures again and again well, you should be formatting after each time you download the pictures to the computer.

I know that will solve the problem and you can use the same system when you get a new camera

I cant take a picture with my FUJIfilm Fine Fix A340. Card full.

You need to clean some space to your card by uploading the pics to a computer or deleting them from the card. Or you can buy a new card.

Not able to 'delete' a picture from my Lumix TZ3

Sounds like a MobileMate quirk Tanya. Use your USB cable connection to your PC/Camera interface and delete pics that way too see if this funny goes away.

If it does, and I believe it will, then it is a SanDisk issue not revising the File Allocation Table(FAT) after deleting the Pic File on the mem card.

You could also find out if this is just an SDHC SD card reader issue by using an older less dense standard 1 or 2Meg non-SDHC mem card in the reader and see if issue goes away.

The fallback of course to view and delete the pics on the camera before download, or download pics then note which pic file numbers you want deleted after viewing on PC, then put SD card back in camera and delete them there.

Another option for trial, is to cut and paste the whole DCIM folder, or sub pic folder to your PC from off the SD card using the card reader. The camera automatically generates subfolders under the DCIM folder if you completely remove(deleting by a cut or move), when you take your first picture on a camera with a DCIM but not sub pic folder. Try this first and I think you will find all pics will be deleted from camera that are in a subfolder under DCIM. If not, then cut or move the whole DCIM folder and create a new DCIM(empty) folder on the SD card using the PC and card reader. Of course using this method you cannot selective delete individual pics from the mem card. You would be deleting them all after the Folder cut or move from the SD card.

Deleting pictures from cybershot viewer

Emmmeee,

I had the same problem with my digital cam/corder! An alternative solution to deleting pictures off the camera is, trickily enough, through your computer! This may be a bit of a hassle as you have preloaded your pics. What you will need to do is redownload your pics. You should be asked the option of deleting your pictures after download, and you click on the box.

Memory

hi there,

what you can do is transfer those pictures to a computer before deleting the pictures in the camera. whenever your take pictures, they are directly stored to the memory card. accordingly to your preferred memory storage. so if in doubt, save your pics to a computer before deleting.

hope this helps.

Make sure you have completely uninstalled AOL, as this can still cause certain problems. When you connect your cam you should be able to view pics within Windows my pictues and should ask to import files. It should also show up in my computer as a drive if it's recognised by windows, if so you can explore it and open the folder with pics in
