Which lights are blinking red? What is the rate of the flashes? I'll assume that one of the blinking lights is the power light (just means error).
If the either of the ink cartridge lights is blinking rapidly, the cartridge may not be seated correctly. Try reseating the cartridges and then press OK to clear the error. If it is a less rapid flash it could be that the print head isn't reading the cartridge ink level correctly. Please note: refilled or non-Epson cartridges may not be read correctly due to information stored in a chip on the cartridge or in the printer.
In this case the problem may be in the print head and Epson doesn't recommend cleaning this yourself. You can replace it. (On other inkjets, pop out the cartridges, remove the print head and wipe with soft, lint-free cloths or q-tips dampened with bottled or distilled water (wring out excess water). On each section, you wipe away from the nozzles. Then wipe off the inside of the print head carriage (contacts) as well. Dry everything with a dry cloth and reassemble the printer.)
If the Check paper light is blinking check for a paper jam or the printer looking for a different paper size.
Run a nozzle check to see if all inks are printing out. Turn printer off, then hold down the paper button ( top ), while holding it down, press and hold the power button. When you see the power light flashing green, release both buttons. It should print a nozzle check pattern. You should see 7 columns of different colored lines and one checkered board pattern. There should be no gaps and breaks on the lines. If pattern is no good, you need to do head cleaning.Press the ink button for 3 seconds. Power light will flash and print head will move. This will take one to two minutes. After it is complete ( power light turns solid green ) you need to do a nozzle check pattern to verify if there is improvement or If head cleaning needs to be repeated.
Blink alternately or not?
If alternately, the message is not "general error". but "service required" It's true to reset waste ink counter.
But, i think it's not service required. when trun on printer ready? But when start to print red lights blink at same time?
Problem with chip at ink tank. Check connector at chip and at head carriage. It's may be dirty, and not good connection. try to use another chip.
In some cases, this is cause by a nozzle that got clogged during the jam. You can run head cleaning utility either from the printer or from the computer.
1. Make sure that there are no error lights (red lights), just a solid green light. 2. Take out all cartridges from the printer and put them back in. 3. Once the printer is done charging the inks and you have a solid green light again. Hold down the Ink Button for 3 seconds, after this you'll hear movements within the printer, this is the head cleaning process. 4. Once the printer stops making noises, and you have a solid green light again. Power Off the printer 5. Once the unit is OFF, hold down the paper button while turning the printer ON. Once you see the blinking green light release BOTH buttons. The printer will then print the nozzle check pattern.
* Note: The nozzle check pattern should display all colors in the printer and there should be no gap or break between the lines itself.
6. Do this step 3-4 consecutive times. and that should resolve you concern
Which of the two red lights is on? If it's the red paper light, it simply thinks it's out of paper. Make sure your stack of paper is properly seated in the Automatic Sheet Feeder. If it is the red ink light, it means that during a print task (printing, head cleaning, ink charging), an empty cartridge was detected. Go through the cartridge replacement procedure as described in your User Manual. If you don't have one, see:
Just as a follow up to this one for anyone else who hits this problem...
You can service the printer and redirect the waste ink yourself using the guide and information provided from this guide which I wrote a couple of years back.
It applies equally to the C84 - C88 and D88 models and certainly requires a certain amount of technical skill and patience but not beyond the amateur with a LOT of patience :)
In terms of resetting the waste ink counter or "protection counter" which triggers the service required message you can't use the SSC utility but instead will need to source the official adjustment utility.
Getting the product serviced is an option but frankly it usually costs more than the printer was worth so you've nothing to lose by trying to fix it yourself.
Your info is slightly conflicting - I think.
As I remember the C60 has just 2 LED's:
1 - Green for Power
2 - Red for Error
The third button - Cartridge exchange - has no LED
Now it is a while since I looked at a C60 and my brain leaks like a sieve, but that's the way I remember it and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
The error codes I remember are:
Printer status - Indicators - Priority
Power - Error
Power ON condition On -
Ink sequence Blink -
Ink Cartridge change mode Blink -
Data processing Blink -
