I think the back of the lazer assembley might have come loose or off. It happened on my old psp. Every time it would load, a flickering red dot would appear. I dont think you can gat the back of the lazer assembley, but the lazer assembley itself can be bought for a reletively low price on eBay. Pretty easy to replace too. 4 screws and 2 cables.

Evey time i but in a umd it comes on and then says disk can not be read

It could be many things is the can be a bad lazer, disc rotating motor is stuck, or bad motherboard in a worst case scenario. You can check if your lazer and your disc rotating motor is working if you open your umd slot with the psp on and with a small toothpick there is a black tab that sticks up, this tells the PSP that there is a UMD in the drive If you press this down, you should see the disc motor spin and the laser light up red. If they are in working order then it could be something wrong with some of the other hardware in the psp itself. (Caution: Do not stare directly at lazer) If one of the motor (Lazer or Disk rotating motor) are twitching or trying to move there could be some dust in the gear preventing it from turning you can try getting a needle and try to move the gear manually. If this does not work your most likely going to need to send it in for repair. Hope this helps please rate thanks!

When i put any games in my psp i hear this repetitive sound and the game dosn't show up on the psp screen i went to GameStop and they said it might be the lazer. if so, how do i fix that?

I had this same problem. Take a Kleenex and rubbing alcohol and GENTLY rub the little laser. Make sure you don't it too hard or you'll break it. That should fix the problem.

Ma psp is workin slower n its shaking

its shaking from spining the disk faster to try reading it could mean the lazer eye is dirty, same thing with load times, hard time reading the UMD means slower load times for games.

(DO AT OWN RISK!!!) Qtips are a psp owners friend. get some water or rubbing alcohol on 1 end of the Qtip (not alot, just barly damp, not driping wet) find a nice light to so you can see the lazer eye in the disk load area , slide the damp side of the Qtip in there and wipe the eye a little bit, then use the dry end to get the rest of the dust, dampness off the eye and let it sit to dry for about 10 mins or more. turn it on and try it out after the 10min or more drying time. i do this with my psp/ps2 and any other thing that useis CDs/DVDs or has a lazer eye and it usely does the trick.

hope it worked. if not you may need to take it to a repair shop.

Psp fault

Umm the thing your refering to is called the laser and it is a glass object that is connected to a screw type base. And usually if you touch this the laser just dies , you can clean it GENTLY RUB IN ONE DIRECTION by using Pure Alcohol/Methanol on a PURE COTTON BUD .OR it could be the laser dying usually very common and it needs replacement , sony can service it or you can buy the part on ebay (PSP replacement laser) and you can open it up and replace it .These guides are on google by searching psp laser replacement guide or a similar term.
