Question about SanDisk Sansa Connect MP3 Player

I need help!!

Can you please tell me why my sandisk connect's usb cables are showing up on my windows media player as unknown device detected when i have everything i need to get it on there and get music on there on my computer??? please....

Windows XP SP2 or higher Windows Media Player 10 or higher Download and install the latest Windows Media Player if it's not installed. If you are using Windows Vista: If the player is seen in My Computer when using MTP mode, but not showing in Windows Media Player. Refresh the players driver Connect the Sansa player to the PC The screen on your player should turn on, show 'Connected' and indicate the battery charging or full. If the player does not turn on try other USB ports or on another computer if one is readily available. Sansa e250 MP3 Player: won't play any music or change to any other format...

My Red Sansa Clip 4GB will not show on any computer i plug it into, It only charges and i have tried the auto detect, mtp, and msc settings. Any Suggestions?

The player can operate in either MSC or MTP mode.

MSC = Mass Storage Class, seeing the player as a removable disk.
In this mode you can transfer with copy and paste or drag and drop
method.
note
Before disconnecting in MSC mode always go through the icon right below "safely remove hardware": remove the player in the icon before taking out the USB cable.

MTP = Media Transfer Protocol, having the player connected in software
e.g. Windows Media Player.
note
Disconnect the player only after the dialog in the software tells you can disconnect the player or transfers have been finished.

USB connection mode can also be forced into MSC mode on the version 2 player (default connection version 2 player is MTP mode):
1. Turn device OFF.
2. Slide the hold switch to the direction of the REC button so an orange color would show putting the device on Hold.
3. Press and hold the left ( |<< ) button while connecting the device to the PC.

When I plug my Sansa Fuze (8 GB) into the computer it won't download the driver into the computer.


if u have a installer cd with the device then
please install the driver then plug your device
in the connectivity cable.

There is a problem with the USB cable or your USB ports - check Start--> Control Panel--> Printers and Other Hardware --> system --> Hardware--> device Manager-->USB Controllers for more detials (I am assuming Windows XP) - see if there is a yellow exclamation by your USB port

try a different usb port or cable

Sansa M230 not seen in Explorer or Windows Media Player


We had the same problem with Windows XP. We found some help on the Sandisk web site. On the device go to the Settings menu, then USB. We changed from AutoDetect to MSC mode and everything is working again. Our computer saw all of the songs on our computer fine. Some of the old songs on the Sansa didn't show up on the detect list in Windows Media Player, but they were still on the device.

Update your USB drivers?

You could try putting the Sansa's in MSC mode.
Depending on your Firmware there will be a USB option under settings (Under USB it might be on Auto just select MSC)
OR you will need to
1)have the player on (but not plugged in)
2)push the HOLD switch tot he right (towards the REC button [see orange in the hold slot]
3)HOLD DOWN the |<< rewind button (keep this held down)
4)plug the cable into the Sansa (assuming the other end is in the USB port)
Wait till you hear it detect it..

If it still does not..

CHECK the Device Manager to SEE if their are any unknown devices under USB unplug the Sansa
Delete the unknown and try steps 1 thru 4 again.
If you do not know how to get to Device Manager then you will need the help of someone who knows these types of things to show you or look this up on the internet.

WMP won't detect my MP3


See if this helps: -Close all programmes on your computer. -Turn off your Sansa e250. -Attach the cable into the USB port of your computer before attaching it into the actual e250. -The scroll wheel on the Sansa should have turned on by now. -Then it's just a matter of waiting for a few seconds. -Try opening Windows Media Player to see if it detects your device. Otherwise, be patient. Goodluck.
