Scanning B/W File with AR-BC320 printer - size limit problem.

Hi - using an AR-BC320 printer to scan B/W file - getting message "Volume of the sending data is above limitation." Is there a way to change the size limit? The user has all ready broken the file down into 20 page increments - still having problem. Thanks.

Is there memory on your main board? Is there a hard drive on your print controller? Are you using Sharpdesk with Network Scanner Tool to make the scan profile, or scanning through e-mail or to a network drive?

Scanning and saving in a single file printer 966

Hello,

This printer can only scan to JPG format and that format only supports one page at a time. The only multipage file format is PDF which this printer does not support. To get everything into one file you would have to scan the pages to individual files and then use Winzip to combine then into one zip file that you can send to someone. Be careful the files will get very big very fast and some email providers will not accept files that size.

I write an email and want to attach a pic. I put the pic in the printer but where do I gofrom here?

I'm assuming it is a photo you wish to email? First you need to SCAN it into your computer where you will save it to a folder, remembering the folder name.

Then you open up the program you use for email and look for "attach file selection". In Outlook it is under INSERT, in other programs including webmail like gmail it will say something like "attatch file". Browse to where you saved the photo, and choose it.

Note that often just scanning a photo print can make a huge file size which may be too large for sending. Various email servers have limits on the size of email you can send.

There are other ways of getting a photo scanned and emailed often involving right clicking which pops up menus that say something like "email file". However how and where that is various from pc to pc depending on the printer and programs you have. The method above works for all types.

Problem with size of scanned document using HP laserjet 3380

It depends also on what you are scanning....half tones, pictures etc. but the easiest way to control the file size of PDF's is to change the resolution setting. Also referred to as the quality setting. These are settings like Super Fine, Fine, Standard. It should be right on your control panel. It is the same setting you can change when sending a fax. If your default setting is Fine for example, changing it to standard will use a lower resolution and reduce the file size. In other words the higher resolution/quality setting you use make the file size much larger.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

How do I scan and transfer to outgoing email??

Hi. Here are the steps you need to do to send a scanned document/image using your default email application. Place your orinal document/image on the printer. Using the Productivity Studio software, click email, select the scan type (photo, several photos or document). Click start. Click create email to attach the file to the email message. Hope this helps. There's also a PDF file User Guide you can download from the Lexmark website for your reference. Just click on this link: http://bit.ly/9gZV0u . Click on the 9500 Series All-In-One User's Guide found below the page. Download the PDF file. Refer to Scanning page for concerns about scanning. Good luck!

I want to scan a picture on my HP officejet K60 and email to my account. I need to know how to set this up

Hi bee03101962,

When scanning to e-mail, the scanned image is placed in a newly created e-mail message as an attachment. Complete the message, adding addresses, subject, and text, and send it. Here's how you would do that.
  1. Start the e-mail program and connect to the Internet service. For some programs, doing this first avoids confusion about assigning the e-mail a date and time for delivery.
  2. Load the original in the scanner.
  3. In the HP Director , click Scan to E-Mail . The all-in-one product scans the document, and the scan appears in a new message window of the e-mail program. NOTE: When scanning to e-mail, the scan is saved as .jpg file, which generally results in a smaller file size. Regarding file size, if the .jpg file exceeds the ISP's maximum size, consider rescanning at a lower resolution. Microsoft Office 2000 programs may or may not be supported. For more information on supported programs, check the HP Web site: www.hp.com/go/all-in-one.
  4. Process the e-mail message normally.
The scanner software scans into several e-mail and fax programs. If the program is supported, its name may appear in the Send To list in the Scan window. Some e-mail programs appear in the list as Mail. Good Luck, Don't forget to leave a rating. Thanks Mark

HP C6180, File is too large to send after scanning

Hi

You may check the resolution of the scanned picture, lowering down the resolution to some extent will not damage the quality of the scanned image, also it will lower down the file size to great deal and this should help you send the fax without any issues.

try it and get back to me for any assistance

thanks

When I scan in sharp AR M-205, my scanned copy becomes very small size, so how to set for normal size?

Make sure the default scan setting is not for a TIFF file format. Sharps are notorious for sending very small TIFF scans.

System settings on Sharp AR-M205

Found a very good solution...Use Adobe Acrobat to do the scanning. Launch Adobe Acrobat and select the AR-M205 as your scanner and proced from there. Adobe will pull up the Sharpe software to do the actual scanning but Adobe will be in charge and create a pdf file. I am using Adobe 6.0 which is not one of the free versions, I think.
