Ipod Nano 4th gen LCD backlight not working

I have an Ipod Nano 4th gen which got wet (5 minutes in the washing machine). I dried it out for several days and everything works but the backlight. Some say to replace LCD and some say faulty connection to battery. How can I fix it?

Its definitely the logic board (motherboard) that has gone bad. Its not the actual screen nor LCD. Its the logic board. You could replace the screen with a new onje and the backlight still will not work. Nano's are known for this but of course apple won't admit to putting out a piece of **** logic board in all of the nano's or they would have to recall 10 million of them! So, they just play stupid and say your nano is out of warranty but we'll give you a 10% trade in discount. What a joke! I know this because i used to work for Apple ;-) They screw customers left and right to keep their profits up.

I know this is 11 months old, but this person has provided lots of misinformation. I'm not an Apple fanboy but no company would replace an electronic device in or out of warranty due to their 'piece of **** logic board' being put into a washing machine.
The problem is the video display cable, when it gets wet it shorts out two connectors on the cable which are very delicate and break (i'm assuming they are and - of the backlight) which are very delicate and break. This cable cannot be replaced as it is attached to the logic board. I was thinking about getting a scalpel under magnification and scratching a fine ****, then rejoining the conductors with some silver conductive epoxy or extremely fine gauge wire. This will be extremely hard and would only be possible because of the tools I have at work (electronic assembly). It will probably also end in failure! It's always worth a shot though!

The problem is with the backlight coil. I just successfully repaired a nano 6th the other night, I used a coil from a ipod touch 4th gen. I am still testing it out to make sure coil is compatible, I will be making a video showing the repair to post on youtube... So far I have found no one else who has made this repair, so I hope my video will help some people out...

My iPod nano got washed and I let it dry for a couple of days, and it works now, but the backlight or something is dim and now I can only see the screen when I am shining some kind of light on it. WHAT DO...

If you can not increase the brightness in the settings tab then odds are the backlight to the screen has gone out. To fix this a screen replacement would do the trick.

here is a link to an amazon store that sells them for under 15 bucks

How can I use JVC AVX810 with Iphone? Currently IPOD works fine with the USB cable but IPHONE is not recognised. Maybe there is an adaptor that can solve it?

JVC KS-PD100 iPod Interface Adapter (257KSPD100, sold separately). This optional iPod Interface Adapter supports audio playback for the following iPod models - iPod click-wheel (3rd gen), iPod photo (4th gen), iPod mini (1st/2nd gen), iPod nano (1st/2nd/3rd/4th gen), iPod video (5th gen), and iPod classic (80/120/160GB). The KS-PD100 is not compatible with the iPod touch (1st/2nd/3rd gen), iPod nano (5th gen), or iPhone (2G/3G/3GS). This iPod interface will also not charge the iPod nano (4th generation). *Apple firmware updates may change functionality results.

There u go.....

Wash and dry ipod 3rd gen

Other people have dried out their mp3 players and got it to work sporadically, but the water damage is irreversible. Call Apple and tell them that it just won't work - don't give them the details of how it got there.
