Question about Dell Dimension E521 PC Desktop

I just installed new hard drive installed all the drivers that the manufacturer says my pc needs. My internet is not working for dial-up or wireless. When I look at the device manager menu broadcom is on there but it is disabled, when I enable it scrambles my screen and I have to shut down the pc. It is a dell dimension E521 desktop and my warranty is up!

You need to install the serial number for the modem to get it to work.

look at the modem or your devise that connects you tot he internet gett he serial number off of it and then open up network places clcik on network places and then put serial number in the device name and close out and you should be able to connect after you close your IE page and your network page. If you see the modem listed then install serial number for the password.

Hard drive went on my laptop. Put in new hard drive and downloading all the disc but can't get the internet to connect wireless or hookup.

Use a computer that is connected to the Internet, download the drivers and copy them to a USB memory stick and then copy them to your laptop and install them from your hard drive or just install them from the USB memory stick.
I suggest you burn these drivers onto a CD so you have these device drives when you need to re-build your hard disk again.

Can not locate net work adapter

Possible cause:

The hard drive contains all the necessary drivers that makes the computer function and that includes Internet connection. When you installed the operating system and all other software it does not mean you installed the driver for the motherboard which contains the drivers for the LAN.

Solution:

Run the drivers CD that came with the motherboard. If you don't have the CD. contact the PC manufacturer for the driver CD. Otherwise, you can purchase an add on NIC(network interface card).

Problem with Network driver (Dell Inspiron 1525)

I might be a bit late on this but I had the exact same problem just a couple of days ago. What I did was download the drivers needed fromhere (download the two drivers in the Network section). I downloaded these from a different computer then you have to copy and save them to a flash drive and transfer them to your computer and install from there. Your wireless should work after doing this.

No network adapter after restarting computer

Go to the computer manufacturers web site and put in the product number for your computer, then when you have the info on your computer up, you should see a link for support or software and drivers, when you are on the drivers page, look for networking drivers and download.

New Hard Drive

Here is likely what happened.. Your original Hard drive Probably had the Operating System and System Drivers/Software Embedded onto it from the manufacturer.....which uses a Restore CD set

You added a New Drive.. which comes Blank, Then loaded XP.. Now you still need your System Drivers... this will have the drivers for your Wireless and sound and the right display driver etc... You should go to the Manufacturers website of your Laptop and Download the default drivers from their website

This sounds like a poor put together pc. If the DVD drive does not eject then either the dvd is faulty or the IDE cable and/or IDE1 connector on motherboard is not installed, try ejecting through my computer(right click on drive then Eject), if this works the button is faulty. The same goes for the TV Tuner card, again possibly a corrupt or non installed driver, try re installing mother board drivers and card drivers. This really needs to be returned as the pc is not fit for it's use.
