Why is my microwave model 60609 making extremely loud noise and not heat?

Usually that is a sign that your magnetron tube has gone bad (shorted out).

MICROWAVE WON'T HEAT

HELLO.

If you are sure that your microwave is powered on but not heating.then you are having element fault with your microwave.this is the solution below,

Things you will need
  • Oven Heating Elements
  • Screwdriver Sets
1 Turn off the power to the microwave at the breaker box.
2 Take out the screws holding the element bracket in place. These will be on the back wall of the microwave, or sometimes on the top.
3 Pull the element toward you a little bit until you see the wires behind it.
4 Unscrew the leads and take the bad element out.
5 Hold the new element up while you attach the wires to it. Don't stretch the wires any more than you have to.
6 Line up the element while tucking the wires back in. Be sure not to pinch the wires between the bracket and the back wall.
7 Fasten the brackets, making sure they're tight.
8 Restore power to the appliance.
Thanks.

Everything works but there is no heat.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. You may have a bad heating element or it may not be getting power. You need to test the wires to the element to make sure it is getting power. You could have a bad wire going to the element. If this is the case, you need to change the wire that is bad. If the wire has power, then change the heating element.

Microwave suddenly stopped heating up food. Fan is working, timer, buttons etc. Just not radiating any heat. Any ideas? I dont want to pay $100.00 for someone to walk in my door if it's something simple we...

The main microwave element has more than likely fried or the main capacitor to the element went bad. Had the same problem with a Bosch model. Not your exact one though. When it comes to fixing it yourself. You would Have to buy the element and take apart the whole unit. Its not an easy task to complete. The part might be hard to find online. The best option is to go out and grab a new one. A service tech would fix it but it would cost you around 200$ in labor and 65$ in parts plus possibly take 2 weeks if they do not have the part in stock. Good luck.

PROBLEM WITH SHARP R-1874TF CONVECTION OVEN

sometimes an over heat will shut down the oven for a little bit but lets look at other things
i dont believe the board to be bad but i do believe the heating element inside is fried or a wire got fried by heat
if you know how to use ohm tester i would check heating element and wireing first
then try to see if the timer gave out

Microwave arced, wont heat now

I'm assuming that it doesn't microwave either. If it does...then the heater is bad. Sears parts sells them. Second guess is a blown fuse or thermosensor. Inside the pad housing, locate the internal fuse and replace it if blown. The thermosensor is a black plastic bit about the diameter of a dime and 3/8 inch thick and clamped to the side of the unit inside the control area. Test it for continuity and replace if open. If not either of these, then you have power supply issues or control panel problems. My bet: the heater blew out. Often, this is caused when you heat greasy foods.
