How can I enter password in roku 3 I don't know how it connect and not work

I have created this document that will step you through the setup and also enter your password for your network. Hope this helps you.

Follow these steps to setup your Roku player 1. Connect to your TV
  • Use a HDMI cable. Connect one end to the HDMI port of the Roku player, and the other end to an available HDMI input on your TV.
  • Make note of the TV input used.
2. Power up key components
  • Open the battery compartment and carefully insert the provided batteries into the slots, following the correct battery orientation.
  • Power up the Roku player by connecting the provided power adapter to the Roku player and to an available wall outlet.
  • Turn on your TV and select the correct TV input.
3. Connect to your network
  • If you are using a wireless network, select "Wireless" as your network connection:
  • Select your network from the list of available networks.
  • Enter your wireless network password when prompted. (Note: passwords are case-sensitive)
  • If you are using an Ethernet wired connection, select "Wired (Ethernet)" as your network connection.
4. Complete guided setup
  • Get the latest software
  • Your Roku player will let you know if there is a software update available, and will restart after the update
    is complete.
  • Link your Roku player from any Internet browser
  • A link code should be displayed on the TV screen after restart
  • Using an Internet browser, follow the instructions to link your Roku player to a new or an existing Roku account.

What is wpa passphrase

If you use wireless WiFi, instead of direct ethernet cable connection to the Roku, WPA passphrase and WEP key are security codes used to keep unauthorized people from using your wireless signal to access the internet and possibly eavesdrop on your internet activity.

I CAN NOT GET A WIRELSS NETWORK AT MY LOCATION CAN I INSTALL MY NEW ROKU

You need to have your own wireless network or if the Roku has an ethernet port, you can connect the Roku via ethernet cable instead and plug it to your router.

Remember: one of the requirements for Roku to work is High-speed Internet connection-Roku recommends using either a wired or wireless router

Http://192.168.1.254/ has been put into my home page browser but nothing happens

IP ADDRESS 192.168.1.254 is the default gateway of an AT&T modem router (RESIDENTIAL GATEWAY) (2WIRE). for this ip address should be able to view the main screen of your 2wire modem and if not your computer is connected to a different network.

1) try connecting the computer to the 2wire RG using a ETHERNET cable (if your connected via wireless)
2) make sure that the DSL light is solid and not blinking.
3) if your computer already connected by a ETHERNET cable, try accessing the same ip address if your able to view the main screen of your 2wire modem it means that your computer will be able to connect to the internet.
4) try this also:
this for internet explorer:
click tools - connections - LAN settings
( if there's a tick mark on PROXY SERVER remove it )
if you do have tick mark on PROXY SERVER then your computer have a virus, because virus can put a tick on PROXY SERVER without you noticing it.
after removing the tick you will be able to connect to the internet again.

Cable and wireless question

Not possible, since the "input" to the 2WIRE modem is a 4-wire telephone-line, not an 8-wire Ethernet cable.

Instead, spend about $40 to buy a D-Link Wireless G modem, and connect its WAN port to the cable-modem, and connect up to 4 Ethernet cables to "wired" computers, and configure the "wireless" component of the D-Link router.

Can't connect to 2WIRE

I had a similar issue. Here's what I did; Directly connect to the router via ethernet cable; I went to Start>Programs>Accessories>Run; then type in ipconfig, look at the number for the default gateway and type it into your browser's address bar (mine was 192.168.1.254). Now that your in the router, click on the Home Network or View Home Network. At some point it might prompt you for a password. Click Wireless Settings near the top of the screen. From this page I changed the channel to 6 (not quite sure if it did anything) and changed the Power Setting to 10.
After that I was able to connect wirelessly.
