Hi there,

Well there's a distinct possibility that the paper feed rollers are worn. If the printer indicates "Load Paper" while paper is indeed loaded, you're looking at a damaged paper sensor. Look where the paper gets loaded, near the feed rollers at the bottom of the tray. There should be a little plastic flag. When you load paper, the flag moves, which then activates a switch, telling the printer that paper is loaded. If the flag, or the sensor, is damaged you will get error messages....... Please post comments for more help or information.........

Good Luck!!

Thanks

Check the cord and connections. If it still doesn't come on, it may be anything from a fuse to a part burn out.

On the Ip4300 the yellow light flashes at 10 times intervals. The printer does not responde to anything. Thanks Dave

This is from Canon's web site...

Ten flashes:The Cassette is not installed properly/Cannot perform duplex printing
  • When loading from the Cassette, install the Cassette properly and press the RESUME/CANCEL button.
  • When performing automatic duplex printing, the size of paper may not be compatible with automatic duplex printing. The sizes of media suitable for auto duplex printing are A3, Regal, 11" x 17" (Tabloid), B4, A4, Letter, 10" x 12", 8" x 10", B5, and A5". Make sure that the size of the paper loaded in the printer is correct. Pressing the RESUME/CANCEL button will eject the paper and restart printing from the front side of the next paper. The reverse side of the ejected sheet will not be printed.

Problem with Canon Pixma 4300 inkjet. Orange alarm lamp flashes 10 times on switching printer on. Have tried plugging and unplugging power cord, and checked that there is no paper jam. Please help. Brian

Hello Brian,

I found the following on Canon's website.

Not sure if it will fix your issue but thought it might be worth a try:

Best of luck

My canon MP560 thinks that there is no paper loaded when I have the tray full. How do I get it to believe that there is paper?

Theres a cassette underneath and a sheet feed from the back. Make sure you have paper in the cassette tray, when it says cassette tray empty.

I cannot get the paper to load into the printer

I had an issue with the cassette tray paper feed. I loaded paper in the rear tray, manually used the printer properties button to make it print from the rear tray and printed from there. The next day I manually did the same thing but forced it to print from the cassette (bottom) tray. It worked fine today. It no longer thinks that there is no paper and the rollers are picking up the paper edge for proper feeding of the paper. I did not go through the roller cleaning procedure but I would do that if switching back and forth manually between trays doesn't work.

Doesnt print faxes or copies because the paper isnt picked up from the tray

1. Remove any paper from the Auto Sheet Feeder and Cassette.
2. Select the paper source with [Feed Switch].
3. Press [Menu] repeatedly until 3.MAINTENANCE> appears.
4. Use [<] or [>] to select <ROLLER CLEANING>.
5. Press [OK].
6. When cleaning has finished, repeat steps 3 to 5 for a total of three times.
7. Load A4- or letter-size plain paper in the selected paper source and repeat steps 3 to 5 additional three times.

Canon PIXMA ip4000/paper jammed problem

Tackler- I dont think I have a solution but I know that the cassette should stick out about 5cm i.e. the cover just fits on nicely. I found with mine sometimes it needed a firm (but not hard) push in as obviously some sensor was not being tripped and it would just not pick up the paper in the tray. Have you tried using the top down feed? At least if that works you can print (and you can stack up a couple of pages).
