Did you try another input source such as a DVD player or something? Does the problem persist in that too? May be its just your cable signal..

No picture on TV and can't get autotune table up

The TV is obsolete now.

You could go to Best buy and get a digital tuner.

I got one. Actually worth it. Perfect picture, but its like letterboxed.

You could subscribe to Basic cable.

I'm finding it strange that this far into the situation, that people don't understand
that their tuners are useless now.

Get a digital tuner.

Or a Brand NEW High Definition TV!!!!!

Unplug, replug the tv about an hour later, let the tv reset itself.Tries goto tv menu,go to AUDIO,go down to reset the audio setting, back to factory setting.Goto menu to PICTURE,go down to reset,to resetting the Tuner board back to factory setting. The sound, should be there, now all the time. Not,than the Tuner board have problems. That the board, where the broscasting signal cable plug into it.That the Tuner board.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish Tuner board for the replacement.

Sony projection tv with dual tuners; only one tuner appears to be working now.

To verify that the tuner is the problem, move the cable from the second to the first. If you don't get a signal, the tuner is bad. The main tuner is part number 859843000 and is available for $47.38 from tritronicsinc.com

Misubishi warrior 2 intermitant pic freezes 1 second or less

Hello frogman,

The freezing of the picture denotes a loss of signal on a digital (Having a ATSC tuner) TV. If your TV is not digital (Having a ATSC tuner) then it is the device that you have connected to the TV (Cable Set-top Box, DTV Tuner, etc). In the likelihood that it is your TV I would suggest getting a better antenna first if that does not fix the problem you may have a tuner problem. However lets not look at it that way first. What we need to do is to determine if it is the TV of whatever you have connected to the TV.
First unhook the connection you have from the cable to your F connector of the TV (you should see snow or a blank screen) connect a antenna to the F connector of the TV, do you see a snowy picture or a clear sharp picture (snowy= NTSC tuner, clear-sharp= ATSC tuner). If the tuner is NTSC then check you cable device and the connection between your TV and the device and the cabling between the device and the wall. If the Tuner is ATSC then you will have to check all of your connections, and finally if the tuner is bad it has to be replaced by a qualified Tv repair shop.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

I have a toshiba rear projection tv model number 51wh36p the picture has started distorting as if the tv wasnt tuned in properly but all the menues are fine just the picture and it also the same on the av...

The first thing to do is to isolate whether you have a tuner problem or the TV itself.

How does the picture look when you play a DVD? Any problems?

What is the source for your TV signal (built in tuner, cable box, satellite, etc.)?

2 PROBLEMS

Your two problems are different . Your tv shutting down is not due to the tuners . First thing i would check is to unplug set and take the back off . On the left side is the board with your tuner on it . Look on that board to see if these is any liquid buildup on it. One of your picture tubes could be leaking causing set to shut down . This can also be causing your snowy picture problem as the liquid has started to spread . The metal braket above this board is where the liquid starts to trickle down from . Use a flashlight to see . If you see no liquid then you have hv sweep problem which would need to be checked out. If you still want to get a board www.ptscorp.com May have your board in stock . Good luck

Toshiba CF36G40 36" TV (picture snowy)

you have a bad tuner you can replace it or use vcr if you still have one around. hook it up with av cable like your ps2 and hook your cable to it and use it to change channels. If you want to replace the tuner it will require soldering and you will have to order it somewhere. i would try partsore.com. The tuner is the metal can the cable goes into inside the tv.

Blue screen

It sounds like the high voltage distribution block but that is not the cause of your problems, the tuners you talk about are the picture tubes ,one for each color, the blue picture tube was arking and you got lucky and got 6 more months of use, it and might have corrected when you drop it but now is the red doing it and you need to do the same but it might not work this time, dont be surprise.Be carefull while trying things in the back, there are high voltages there and is not safe unless you are familiar with tv service.
