Loud noise coming from DC07

I took the bottom plastic cover off to clean the hair out of the roller. Somehow I managed to pop the roller out on one end and eventually got it back in the slot. I got the cover back on but now there is a horrendous noise when I try to vacuum. The only problem I was having prior to my repair attempt was a loss of suction due to a ton of hair being wrapped around the brush.

Sometimes the brush bar may be slightly bent and has been rubbing against the yellow housing part (at the hole where the belt is) and has melted part of it off, the part which holds the brushes in place. The noise may the bar vibrating against the yellow part because they are now loose. Unfortunately you may have to replace both parts.

Dog hair gets caught all the time in the belt drive spool, is there a fix for this other than having to pull it out all the time by hand? I have replaced the belt and the brush but this hasnt solved the...

My Dyson started making a loud noise when in "carpet" mode. After reading a ton of forums I thought it was the clutch assembly. Got a new one on eBay for a great price. Somewhat hard to replace, but thanks to this YouTube video, I was able to get it in: http://www.ezvacuum.com/dyson-dc07dc14-clutch-assembly-90025204-genuine-p-1636.html

HOWEVER this did not resolve the issue. I realized the beater bar was not spinning or was slipping. I thought I cleaned it all out but realized you need to take the beater bar out and pop the end cap and clean out the INSIDE of the beater bar (tons of lint and cat hair). I additionally sprayed WD40 in there.

It spins great now and in the end I think that's all I had to do was clean out the cat hair build up inside the beater bar. But now I have a new clutch & belts too. Hopefully won't have issues anytime soon.

New noise when vac is run

mine was allowing the roller/beater bar to hit the cover as it turned take the cover back off and ensure the beater is in the right place then that the cover is locked in the right place then you can spin it by hand (power cord unplugged of course) and make sure it is clearing everything. BTW, the belt has to be stretched to get the beater bar in place like on most vac.s

No suction

Ok first thing to do is remove & clean the 2 piece premotor filter or purchase new.

Now remove soleplate from bottom of machine to do this rotate the 3 plastic screws to unlock position. Lift sole plate off now remove any blockagers or fluff that may be built up over the brush roller.
Remove hair from brush roll using scissors.

Check short clear hose for blockages & any damage rips or tares if it is damaged purchase new hose.

Now look at belts & rotate brush roller it should turn relatively easy if it is difficult to turn by hand remove the brush roller & pull off the end caps the axle will come out with one of the caps.
Check the roller bearings clean away dust build up replace end caps & axle spin roller holding on to end cap if freely to spin refit back on to machine.

If its stiff to rotate you will need new roller.

Now pull off the 2 inspection ports check them for bits of paper etc especialy the (U) shaped port at bottom rear of machine this can contain pens pencills stones all sorts of items that hinder the suction.

Now check the long flexi hose & metal wand for any obstructions.

If after all this machine is still not working correctly go to this site http://dysonmanuals.llc.nu/

On this site you will find Dyson service manuals covering poor suction, clutch, motor, etc.

My dyson is making a loud horrible noise

Hi.

Check the brush roller can be moved by hand & that it is not snagging on something.
If it is difficult to rotate remove sole plate by turning the 3 plastic screws to unlock position lift plate off & clean brush roller & check you can turn it after this.
If brush roller is free to rotate the chances are the clutch is faulty & will need to be replaced.
Go to this site http://dysonmanuals.llc.nu/
It has manuals that cover clutch replacing on all Dyson models.

Beater not turning

IT SOUNDS LIKE A ROLLER PROBLEM. REMOVE THE ROLLER COVER AND THEN REMOVE THE ROLLER. TAKE OFF THE ROLLER ENDS. ONE OF THE ENDS PROBABLY HAS SOME MELTED PLASTIC IN IT FROM A BUILD UP OF HAIR OR SOMETHING. SCRAP OUT AND REINSTALL THE ROLLER. GOOD LUCK.

Vacuum Roller making a loud noise

Your roller brush is starting to fail. If you unscrew the ends, you will find a lot of hair wound around the stem. You probably have a warped plastic end the holds the bearing. This is my problem now.... I am looking for a new roller brush as I write this. I found one for $30. Good Luck.
