You haven't stated which exact model, but yes, on many electronic devices the cooling fan speed is automatically controlled according to need. Most current flat panel tv's (except for ultra budget, old technology "no name" designs) incorporate this feature.

This cuts fan noise, prolongs fan life, and uses a little less power. Just make sure that the ventilation slots on the tv are not choked with dust, and on models with removable gauze filters make sure that you clean them every month or every week if it's a dusty environment. Removable filters are more commonly fitted to LCD projectors, but I've seen a few flat panel tv's with them fitted as well.

If the fan becomes especially noisy or stops altogether (some designs do allow the fan to stop for short periods though) then you must get the tv serviced as a failed fan is cheap, but an overheated tv can be more expensive to repair. They all have thermal cut-outs which usually put the tv into "protection mode" if the tv overheats, but fault diagnosis is usually faster and cheaper if this can be avoided. Much better to avoid letting it overheat to begin with.

Relax and enjoy your tv :-)

Hi, my toyota yaris engine fan was working well but since winter come its working slower than in it normal??

Most radiator fans have two speeds ( high and low ). Depending on engine temperature, the computer decides which speed to operate the fan at. This may be a normal situation and you may just be noticing the fan when it is operating at the lower speed

the one on the engine is probably a viscous type fan.It spins freely until the heat causes it to 'stiffen' up and assist in drawing heat off the radiator.Prior to this it is not needed and would only rob engine power and slightly affect fuel economy.Easy way to check if it is viscous, with engine off, just spin the blades. It should spin with a little resistance onlyThe electric fan on the radiator is switched on by a temp sensor or by using the air cond(unless it has another for this task).Hope this helps you.

you need to change a part on the blower syatem , that a resistor is mounted near the fan . that will give you the lower speed

I have an existing ceiling fan with a three speed controller. The low speed setting was too high so I have engaged an electrician to install a variable speed controller, Clipsal 32E500F Series. The new...

some manufacturer already attached a variable speed controller when you purchased them, meaning the unit requires this control, but in your case when you purchased it, it does not have any, meaning they sell it to the market as ready to use, so why install additional control?

There might be an installation error during the assembly, so all you have to do is just interchange the wire connected to the control from LOW, MEDIUM and HIGH, it is a trial and error thing but it won't affect or damage your unit, maybe your high speed connection was connected to a low speed control, so just inter-change it. Remove the variable speed control

I have a 2004 MPV with 88k miles on it that feels as if it is missing when I drive. When I am stopped and it does this I notice a slight drop in RPM's. In addition the engine cooling fan is not running at...

The cooling fan turning on will normally cause an amperage draw making the engine drop in rpm's. However I beleive there may be a problem with the fan relay which switches the fan on at different speeds depending on the temperature demands of the engine.I dont beleive a bad relay will come up as a code because it's not a sensor.

Is normal for older vehicles to do this. Wait until something breaks and fix it. I know it doesnt sound like great advice, but if all is working, leave it alone.
