Check out my expert tip for setting up wireless brother printers with wireless router reservations and add your other wired PC's so that you can print via your wired router connections

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559234-set_up_a_wireless_printer_on_your_router

This will work on all brother wireless printers not just the 340CW model as long as you can specify wireless mode on the LCD control panel, why USB when you can go WAN

    Sorry for long delay replay.

No, you can not use that printer unless you have a wireless router in your house, so this is how it works:

    Setup wireless router
    connect
your MacBook to the router using wireless, keep your printer setup as
last step reply I gave, so you can use the printer.
as well as other notebooks that want to use the printer must be connected to the wireless router.

Fax: you can do it but if you use windows, for Mac I've never tried it.

Please download Manual Book for your printer, click here

    • Open page 17 to setup Wireless router

    • Page 8 to setup your Fax
    let me know the progress.

New Computer trying to set up printer scanner to computer

You can download the manual from here:

Brother mfc-j6710dw
  1. Click 'Downloads-Drivers and Manuals' on the left-hand side.
  2. Choose: 'Multi-Function Centers' and 'MFC-J6710dw'
  3. Click 'Search',then 'View Downloads For MFC-J6710DW '
  4. Click the 'Manual' tab, then 'Search.'
  5. Download the guide(s)you need. You'll probably want the 'Quick Setup Guide.'
I have the MFC-J415 4 in1 Multi-Function Center.First, after initial setup, installing tyhe software, etc,I had to hook it up via ethernet, put in the modem/router's security code,to authorize its access to the network, then the computer had to 'find' it on the wireless network. After that,it said to remove the Ethernet Cable. This was last year,so I've kind of forgotten the instructions, but it was something like that.

Anyway,enjoy!

HOW DO I CLEAN THE PRINTHEADS ON BROTHER MFC 6890 CDW

Each Printer has a function to clean the heads and alight the matrix.

Check your user Manual or just use the front panel of your printer and look if you can find it there.

Some top of the line Printers do the cleaning of their heads periodiaclly by itself.

How do I increase the number of rings on my Brother MFC-780n fax/printer before it picks up?

Setting the Ring Delay

I have a bigpond supplied 2wire wireless internet modem (2701HGV-W) which works seemlessly with my laptop running XP-sp2 for internet and email. Recently I purchased a Brother MFC 6890-CDW which offers...

Check if it's recognised on the local area network etc, make sure driver is installed and you may need to reset all pc,router etc to get connection. Now remember you need a router for this to work, with only a modem it will not function. You also need to restart all instruments etc before it's picked up by the router and the network..Google a bit and it will solve this.Make sure it uses wifi and not bluetooth as then it will need the right bluetooth connection to your pc..

Fax doesn't recognize incoming phone call

Try this: using a cell phone, call your fax. Listen on the cell for a busy signal, fax tones, dial tone, etc. If the fax does not answer the cell, check the following: make sure the phone line is plugged into the LINE jack on the fax, NOT THE PHONE JACK. The phone jack is to connect a TELEPHONE to the fax. If problem still exists, press MENU on your MFC, and scroll to GENERAL SETUP, FAX. Scroll to SETUP RECEIVE, and, after writing down the settings, try changing the RING DELAY or RING TIME settings. If problem is still there, press CLEAR/BACK button until GENERAL SETUP appears on screen. Scroll down to INITIAL SETUP, and select RECEIVE MODE. Try changing RECEIVE MODE settings. Write them down before you change anything.
