How do i transfer pictures to my computer

The best way to transfer pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa.

I have a 32GB sandisk and it says its full its brand new

If the file size you are trying to transfer on to the flash card is greater than 4 GB, it will not transfer unless it can be divided up. This is because the flash card by default is formatted 32 bit. The maximum file size in theory should be something like 4.294 GB (going from memory).

Re-format the card in NTFS, if the particular card type will allow this. Not all the cards can be formatted in NTFS. This way you should be able to put files on the card that are greater than 4 GB in size.

I have ultra flash compact with some film on it and i want to transfer it onto my pc but it doesnt seem to be happening

Ummm... You can't transfer film directly to any computer. The information on film is stored chemically and not electronically.

If you meant to say that your digital camera has images on it and you're having problems then perhaps we can help, but you'll need to state the make and model of your digital camera and the computer operating system. Basically though, most such problems are bypassed simply by removing the memory card from the camera and inserting it into an external card reader attached to your computer.

How do i put pictures on a sandisk u3 4gb flash drive

You can put pictures on it the same way you put any other files on it. Plug the flash drive into your computer, then drag&drop any files to/from your hard drive(s).

Sandisk ultra 2 1.0gb will not download onto my computer?

Inspect the camera itself under good light with a keen eye. You may find a pin is bent, broken or missing in the flash card compartment. This would require the aid of a camera technician to fix. If this is not the case though, then perhaps the card has become corrupt or faulty. I would suggest purchasing a leading brand card reader(eg lexar or sandisk) as they often come with image recovery software to help in these situations. Good Luck!

Strange characters in file name

Dear Adriana,

Try downloading your pictures through a USB2 card reader. I have found that some cards are not 100% compatible - a bit like computer memory: Unless the brand is tested and recommended by the manufacturer, you are never really sure until you try it out both in the camera and through computer interfaces. I strongly recommend Kingston Ram. A 2GB SD card is around $18 AUS and has a lifetime warrantee. If it is not compatible, you will get your money back.

Sandisk micro

You will need a card reader..It will have a USB cable that u have to conect to the USB port on your laptop and the sabdisk will be shown as a removable drive.. When u have finished the transfer do not unplug it.. First right click on the safely remove hardware in your system tray and then when the window pops up..click the devoce and click stop..If you dont do it this way your card will be damaged..
