How to fix my vehicles stero

How can I fix my vehicles stero? I think there may be a loose wire or something. My radio will come on from time to time. But will not let me control the volume or station half the time! Then there are times where it will be playing and I've noticed it's always in a part of the drive where I'll be going over a bump or the road just gets a little rocky or something. But it will just go off all together. I would like to fix it myself without much cost, if any. PLEASE HELP!

Radio sound problems , sound comes and goes , but mostly , goes

You are not the only one with this problem... Alot of 01' impalas had problems with the radio. You could take it out to see if there are any loose wires or something grounding out but if it was me I would upgrade to a CD player that has bluetooth and Aux input and some of the newer stuff with it. Also don't foget that it is possible that at or between the speaker connection there could be a short or something grounding out to cause the problem. But no matter what, the dash has to come off so why not put in a new one while you are in there getting your hands dirty. Also Wal-Mart sells a dash kit for every year car/truck but please install it your self don't go and get ripped off by best buy or one of these hole in the wall stereo places. P.S. Take Off The Battery Terminals Before You Do Anything!!!!!!!

I hooked up a JVC stero in my 1991 Nissan truck. Now the memory is wiped out for the radio + factory clock when I turn off the car. The radio will come back on, but no presets works.

Chances are that you do not have the constant 12 volt power of the vehicle connected to the memory wire of the stereo. The yellow memory wire of the stereo should be connected to the vehicles' battery. The red accessory wire of the stereo should connected to a switched 12 volt power source.

Had dead battery in 2002 honda civic got jump now word CODE in radio display

try disconecting the positive terminal of the batery for sevral minets (5-10) this will reset the brain box memory for the stero aswell as for the car it self.

what caused the batery to go dead in the first place?
things that i can think of :
1) left headlights on over night
2) bad altenator not charging batery
3) battery is old and not taking a charge anymore
4) new stero installed incorectly and drainging the batery
have you resently installed a new stero or amplifyer?
is the turn key igntion system hooked into the amp/stero antena lead so that thy are shut of when the ignition is?
of note: new streo >theres a blue wire marked ant that goes to the amplifyer if not there you need to find the orange accsesory wire coming from the turn key igntion>check for power when ignition is in the on & off states could be yellow in some cars but is usaly orange if this wire has on and of state controled by the turn key igntion this would be the wire to tap into for the amplyfire and the radio main power
check your radio's instaltion guide for code errors
its posible that when hooking up the jump it was done incorectly and blew up the radio
ie postive and negative where fliped
hope this helped :)

Car will not turn over. Battery is fine as are all fuses and I have tried to re-set every circuit breaker. As per the owners manual, I jumped the two diagnosis terminals and get no codes indicating signal...

IT sounds like he did something wrong with the wiring in your car. I would take it back to him and demand that he checks his work and makes sure that all is working properly. If he says he needs to charge I would then tell him that you are getting a lawyer take it to another installer and make him pay for all the work to fix the car. This happens all the time and it is because they wired something backwards

I have a 2006 lincoln mark lt that has a check engine code VSS

It's possible, was the light out before the audio tec worked on it, if so go back to the guy and ask him if he may have moved a connector or something when working on the stereo. don't go in and accuse him be nice and he will most likely have you fixed in no time.

Wiring problems due to corrosion on this radio's connectors. Have a shop disconnect all harnesses and use a dab of Deoxit on all interface surfaces...accordianman

Old Stero Console

Does FM work? If so, I would expect AM to work also. Old AM circuits are pretty resilient. If you rotate the tuning dial in AM mode, can you hear distinct changes in the sound (noise) coming from the speaker(s)? I'm thinking there's no wire attached to the AM antenna on the back. Without the antenna, you might not get any audio output.
