If you are sure this is the OS password and not the BIOS password than if it is a newer unit it should have CDRom support built into the BIOS.

Most OS installation disks are bootable. I've never seen a Windows one since version 98 that wasn't. Use a USB CDRom drive, since you say the unit has no internal drives, and when the system boots hit the key combination that allows you to enter the BIOS configuration utility. Find the tab for the boot order setting and make the CDRom the primary boot drive. Save and exit the utility. When it reboots it will boot from the CDRom drive without the requirement for the password and allow you to reinstall your OS, fixing your password problem [though you will probably also have to reinstall you other software as well].

Reset password to my acer da220hql all in one

If you really forgot your password, try writing down all passwords you used last year, and try them one by one. If you can't find it, nobody can.
The last option, is resetting the laptop and restoring the programs, but you will lose all data and all programs installed. You have to start from scratch.
There were times you could connect the hard drive to a connector, using it like an external hard drive, but most operating systems encrypt the data, so I don't think you can recover much data that way, But you could give it a try.

Connect the iPad to a computer with iTune and backup the iPad before restoring the operation system. It will take an hour to restore and after that you can put a new password or remove the password obligation in the general setting. I suggest that you use the iCloud backup to keep your data safe.

Forgot password, does not have cd rom drive, need to restore to factory settings. How???

Hi there,

How to obtain Vista Recovery Media and/or use the Vista Recovery Partition on your computer to put it back to Factory Settings.

There is no legal free Vista download available.

Contact your Computer Manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of Vista Recovery disk/s.

They normally do that for a small $ cost.

Also, ask them if you have a Recovery Partition on your Computer/Laptop to restore it to Factory settings.

See if a Manual came with the computer, or go to the Manufacturer's website, email or phone them for info on how to do a Recovery.

Normally, you would press F10 or F11 at Startup to commence the Recovery Process..

Another way I have seen on some models is to tap F8, and go to a list of Startup options, and start a Factory Standards Recovery from in there, by selecting the Repair computer option.

Also ask them if it is possible to make Recovery Disk/s from the Recovery Partition in case of Hard Drive failure or System Crash.

They will tell you how to do that.

Each Computer Manufacturer has their own way of making Recovery Disk/s.

Or borrow a proper Microsoft Vista DVD(not Dell, HP, etc).
A proper Vista DVD contains all Vista versions.
The Product Key determines which Vista version gets installed.

There are 2 Vista disks: one for 32bit Operating System, and one for 64bit Operating System.

If a clean install is required with a proper Vista DVD (not HP, Dell Recovery Disks):

Go into your Bios/Setup, or Boot Menu, at startup, and change the Boot Order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the Boot Order, then reboot with the disk in the Drive.

At startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, to go into Bios/Setup, or F12 for the Boot Menu

Windows Vista Installation Super Guide

After installation > Go to your Laptop/Computer Manufacturer's website > Drivers and Downloads Section > Key in your Model number > Look for latest Vista Drivers for it > Download/install them.

Save all Data, as it will be lost during a clean install.

Post back if it is not working we will be happy to help you.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!!!!

Hi First you need to make the USB CD-rom Drive as the first boot device by going to BIOS setup by tapping F2 when the system turns ON , after changing the boot order insert the first disc and restart the computer it should run from the disc.

Is there a restore to factory image key sequence for the Panasonic Toughbook U1?

What is the size of the disk-drive?
What is the size of the 'C:' partition?

Does the partition spans the entire disk-drive,
or is there between 8GB and 10GB of difference?

If the latter, then there _is_ a "recovery" partition,
which implies that there could be a boot-time option to boot from that normally-hidden partition, to start a recovery.

If the former, then you need to boot from the set of CD/DVD "system recovery" media, in order to restore the operating system.

Hint: click Start
Right-mouse click "My Computer"
Click Manage
Click the "local disk storage" administration to determine the size of the partition, and the size of the disk-drive.

That happens because the BIOS uses a SATA controller that is not included in Windows XP install disk.

Usually you can solve the problem going to BIOS settings and changing SATA/RAID settings.Check your BIOS settings, and disable SATA RAID mode. This is done in different ways depending on the BIOS.

On HP/Compaq computers for example you press F2 on startup to enter BIOS, then disable SATA mode on bios settings.
On other makes the procedure can be slightly different.

Another way to fix the problem, is by creating your own XP setup disk with SATA drivers included, see:
Resolving "Setup did not find any hard disk drives" during Windows .

Restore factory settings on a Dell Latitude C510

Get a USB CD drive, insert a winXP pro tablet CD, go into bios and tell it to boot from USB device, turn off, attach the USB drive and fire it up. That should reformat and once you get Winxp working you should be able to get the necessary drivers from the Dell web site. Tech suppt at Dell may sell you a disc for the machine that will restore the factory image, just ask. I got new ones from HP for $10.72 total incl postage! 3 to 5 days, what a deal!
Any decent tech should be able to reinstall everything you need for less that $50.00, but you will lose all data on the drive. Who else knows or remembers the login?
