I have an Indesit WG1234T washing machine which has stopped spinning!!! It still pumps the water in and out but just wont spin. Someone told me to change the brushes which i did but now i am wondering if i fitted them correctly. Is there anywhere i can get a repair manual from or a diagram of how they whould be fitted???
I also have this common problem with my WG1234T. - The pump still works but the motor no longer spins. The brushes have a ton of life left in them. I tested the motor by connecting directly to power and it spins so the fault is most likely with the 'controller' unit - i.e. the switch/timer device behind the program knob. This device was not really working perfectly before and sometimes caused erratic working but I think it has now died altogether. I'll try to get it to bits to fix it as I don't believe you can still get a replacement controller for this machine.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
You will need to type into your search engine/web browser '(make model number) washer spares' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can order. Alternately you could try telephone directories for spares suppliers but I would think the former would be more successful.
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!
If there is no filter located at the bottom right front of washer behind a re- moveable cover, then you need to remove the rear cover of washer.
Locate and remove the large black hose fastened to bottom of drum.
Remove and clean plastic filter inside hose.
Remove hose onto pump, and check for blockage or obstruction here as well.
This should help solve your prob.
hi there..by the sound of things, the brushes on the motor are worn out.easy to replace, each brush is secured by two screws at the rear of the motor, and will be black in colour,or a reddish colour.it may be easier to remove the motor to gain access.buy a cheap set from ebay,as generally speaking a repair and spares shop will ask four times the going rate.anyhow, once removed there should be at least 7mm of carbon left to make contact with the commutator(the part of the motor that turns)
hope this helps,steve.ps.the belt could have snapped or come off also....
It is unlikely to be the motor faulty, if it will wash but not spin, check the pump filter first to be on the safe side, if that does not solve the prob, then remove motor and check carbon brushes in motor, as this can often be the cause of the prob.
Also check the water level switch pressure chamber for a possible partial blockage, as this can give the same sympyoms.
