Hi,
First you will need to update your firmware to the most recent
published firmware available by going to the manufacturers website. I
have provided a link below:
http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.as...Once
you click on this link you will need to download and install the
software by clicking on "Download Sansa Firmware Updater" which is
highlighted in red.
Then you will need to follow the on screen instructions to make sure the process is completed as instructed.
Once
you have completed this step, try transfering the files into your MP3
Player. See if it will play them. If this does not work, try resetting
your MP3 Player.
You can reset your device by going into
settings scrolling down util you see the "Reset All Button",it will ask
you to confirm scroll to yes and select it. This should reset to your
original factory default settings.
Good Luck!

- Try changing USB modes. once you do this and you can successfully
connect it and view the contents, Format your device, usually that
deletes everything. Good luck
Back-up your music to your computer and then format your player to
remove any bad or corrupt files. You should format in MTP mode to
remove the DRM licenses.
If you had transferred any music in MSC mode, format twice - first in MSC mode then in MTP mode.
