Under cabinet halogen lights not working

I just bought a home where the previous owners had installed under cabinet lighting in the kitchen. They are individual halogen lights connected to each other. They had 10 watt bulbs. Some were out and I accidentally bought 20 watt, but they all seemed to work fine. Now a section (about 5 lights) is out. Other sections are on and fine. How do I fix this?

You over loaded that section power source less expensive to replace with new lights

Testimonial: "I replaced bulbs but it didn't make them work- did you mean change the light bulbs or each light fixture?"

It is possible you may have damaged the transformer to the light fixture. If so the damaged light fixture will need to be removed for the saftey of your home. Replace the light fixture with an U.L. rated high quality light fixture. No need the take the risk. When in doubt through it out.

Just bought kitchen aid prof 600 110v and i need a new transformer to 220v since my old one was busted using this appliance. What kind of transformer will i buy? Heavy duty ? Any spec? Thanks

You need one that can deliver not only the correct voltage but sufficient current to operate fully when under load. Check the current requirement on the sticker under the base, it will give operating voltage and watts. Purchase a transformer that matches the voltage and exceeds the watts by at least 30% so that the transformer is not operating at full capacity when under load. It will not matter if the transformer exceeds the watts by 100% or more but they do get bigger and heavier as the wattage goes up.

I bought a used bowl-lift mixer. It works except the bowl raises 1/3 inch too high before it locks into place. The under head screw doesn't allow a large enough adjustment. Other ways to adjust?

You shouldn't need to mess about with washers, it almost sounds like there is an incorrect part in the mix. Have you contacted the previous owner about the issue?
Find a local Kitchen Aid service agent and they may be able to say what is wrong just by looking at it.
I expect spacers in between the pedestal and lower case would solve the problem but that's not a proper solution.

How do I get an owners manual for Kitchen Aid Ultra Power Model KSM90 stand mixer? I was given the used mixer and I do not know the frist thing about it.

Hi PASTYJOHN, it's very easy to download both the Owners Manual and Parts List manual for your KA mixer. You can download a PDF version from the KA website at: http://www.kitchenaid.com/flash.cmd?/#/page/home.

Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals& Guides> then enter the visitor type "Consumer" and enter the 6 character model number, in this case KSM90P, where you can choose one of the three size files under Owners Manuals (20). Since there are three versions - 191.99 KB, 2730.37 KB or 3230.97 KB, I would download all three and save the one you feel is best for your needs. Similarly, I would also download a parts list manual, too. Since the Parts List manuals are exactly the same you can choose any one of the 16 available to download and save.

Good luck, I hope this helps. Howard, Burke, VA, USA

Which is the better mixer of these old models: K5A K5-A or K45 SS and what is the difference? KITCHENAID HOBART K5A K5-A 300 WATT MIXER and the KitchenAid Hobart Vintage K45 250 WATT. Thank you

Hello ajlina,

All of these are great home use units, all the attachments are interchangeable between these. The difference between these mixers is the K5 is a 5 quart mixer and the K45 is a 4.5 quart mixer. As I own both of them they are great in the kitchen and have the same durability.

Have any more questions please post to this thread and I will be happy to assist. Thank you for using FixYa.

We just bought a Kitchenaid Pro 500. It was not

Hi JBKRIEGER, Happy New Year! Yes you can download both your Owners Instruction Manual and Parts List Manual from the KA website at: (http://www.kitchenaid.com/flash.cmd?/#/page/home).
Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals& Guides> and enter the 6 character model number and then select the appropriate files under Owners Manual for your Instruction and Recipe manual and the file under Parts List for your parts list manual.
The Parts List manual provides an exploded view for the disassembly and reassembly of your mixer, along with all the part names and numbers. (Definitely check to see it this matches your mixer). You may not need it now, but if your mixer is out of warranty and you want to attempt to troubleshoot and fix your mixer yourself if something goes wrong with your mixer, you’ll definitely need that parts list manual.
Good luck with your KA mixer, Howard, Burke, VA.

Under cabinet light not working

probably not defective bulbs. Flourescents use either a starter and transformer or a ballast. When lights are weak, could be either. Very simple to change too. One other thing, could be connections that go into the lamp holders. If not good connections, light will be dim. On a stretch, if unit is located in an area that us lower than about 50 degrees, this could cause them to be dim. Check ratings on ballast/ starter and transformer. Finally, if voltage is either too high or too low, this could be a dimming problem too. If it has worked in the past, and this is a current problem, then chances are it's not the voltage but may want to check it anyway to eliminate that possibility.

KITCHEN AID MIXER WILL NOT WORK

If you have had the brushes out (under the big screws on each side) verify the cut corner of the brushes are oriented properly. Look inside the hole with a flash light and you will see where the cut corner needs to be.
