Epson TX100 won't recognise ink cartridges.

My Epson TX100 printer does not recognise the ink cartridges. Is there an easy fix?

I have decided to scrap my 6 month old Epson TX100 rather than buy genuine rip off ink. I am in the search for a printer that can use generic or refill ink. My old Canon still works so it will do for the moment.

Yes, Genuine Ink Cartridges.

Did you use Epson Genuine Cartridges?

ALL…. Epson & Brother Requires Genuine Epson Cartridges. !!!!!!!!
That sounds like your problem.

In Purchasing Epson's CX 5400, CX4600, & CX7400 and more, I found out that Epson does not like Generic Printer Cartridges. I also Purchased a Brother. That also does not like Generic Print Cartridges. Color that should be Yellow, will turn out Green, Blue Brown, etc.

These printers have a CHIP that will detect if it is Generic or Genuine. When they see it’s Generic Cartridges, it will print lines thru the words, stripes across the picture and also do a mix match with the colors. It also will not let you print anything, if only one of the cartridges is empty.

I wanted to print only Black, and would not let me, because I did not have any ink in one of my cyan cartridges. Go figure.

That's what these Companies do., so they can keep selling the ink cartridges. Some Printers, are able to use Generic, and some are refillable. Some you can refill them up yourself and I heard, quite MESSY.

So I learned, thru trial and error, that you must use the ORIGINAL Genuine Cartridges for these PRINTERS. Some people say some models work fine compatible, but not mine.......

I had to replace the printer, but Epson, Lexmark & Brothers are always on sale. My Brother & Epson cost me $50.00 with Rebate. .

This is the only advice I can give you. If you find this helpful, pls rate me.

Thanks and Good Luck :0)

Try to check the ink monitors if it indicates a problem with a specific cartridge. First try to clean the gold contacts on the chip of this cartridge using a pencil eraser until you can the see contacts shine a bit. Then reinstall and press the resume button.

If this does not solve the problem, you need to change the chip on that cartridge. Note that only the color chips are interchangeable, the black chip isnt.

Hope this helps.

Yah I want to print black only I bought certified black in for nx400 and it won't let me unless I replace the 3 other color cartridges these epson guys are crooks!!!! I call customer service and hey claim that when you print in black only mode it still uses alittle bit of color. At least be up front they programmed it so you can print unless you continue spending money on their inks whether you need them or not. They sell they printers cheap because they know if you will buy triple the price in ink!

Epson workforce 520 won't recognise ink cartidges

When replacing ink on the Epson Workforce 520, Ensure the cartridges have the correct/same number of gold contacts. Ive seen them with 7 and 9 gold square contacts and they were otherwise identical, and the ones with 9 contacts threw an "cartridge not recognized" error on the printer's dispay.

I have an Epsom TX100, it has run out of black ink. I have replaced it with a 91N cartridge, but it is saying it is not compatible.

Hi leona_sha321,

TX100 doesn't use 91N ink cartridges that was why it is saying that it is not compatible. below are the list of inks for your TX100

T0731 73N - black
T0732 73N - cyan
T0733 73N - magenta
T0734 73N - yellow

Thank you. hope this helps

Epson Tx100 does not recognize my ink!

there is a chip re-setter located just above the cartridges. it is actually a small button switch. if that does not work, try to remove the cartridges. just lift them (1 by 1) slightly then put it back again

Can't replace printer cardridge on Epsom TX100

I had to unplug the power, plug it back in, press the stop button, and unplug it again as soon as the cartridges temporarily stopped in the right location. Not elegant, but it worked.

EPSON tx100 refuses to print - ink light on

ink light on? Check status monitor. Usually after jammed paper, printer trouble to recognized ink. Do change ink tank procedure, unplug and plug again ink tank.

Compatible ink cartridges dx8400

Epson cartridges are microchipped.

Do your new cartridges carry the same chip?

If not, they will not work.

If all else fails, return them to the supplier and explain they are not recognised by your printer.

Problem using sublimation inks

Since you are using sublmation ink, the cartridges are probably aftermarket and may not meet Epson standards. Aftermarket chipped cartridges are notorious for failing to 'communicate' with Epson printers, even when the cartridge is brand new. Before taking the printer to a service center, you might try purchasing new cartridges of your ink from your reseller. If that fixes the problem then your fight is with the ink reseller, not Epson. If it doesn't fix the problem and your printer is still under warranty, take it to an authorized service center, and remember, using non-Epson ink does NOT void the waranty.
