If your outside door lights are on and inside lights are off, and your ice/water dispenser is not working, there may be an issue with the power supply to your refrigerator. Here are some possible solutions you can try:
Check the power outlet: Ensure that the refrigerator is properly plugged into the power outlet and that the outlet is functioning properly. Try plugging another appliance into the same outlet to see if it works.
Check the circuit breaker: Check the circuit breaker to see if it has been tripped. Reset it if necessary.
Check the refrigerator cord: Inspect the refrigerator cord for any signs of damage or wear. If the cord is damaged, replace it with a new one.
Check the door switch: The door switch turns the light on and off when the door is opened and closed. If the switch is faulty, it may cause the inside light to not turn on. Check if the switch is functioning properly.
Check the water supply: The ice/water dispenser may not be working if there is no water supply. Check if the water supply valve is turned on and if the water line is properly connected to the refrigerator.
If none of these solutions work, it may be a more serious issue with the refrigerator that requires professional repair. In that case, you may need to contact the manufacturer's customer support or a qualified technician for assistance.
Check the circuit breaker for the refrigerator outlet. Sometimes during a power fluctuation, an over-current condition can trip the breaker, especially if a motor draws a substantial fraction of the breaker rating.
If you have power at the outlet and the refrigerator still doesn't work, the control module may have been damaged by the power outage. Contact your homeowner's insurance agent if you have a policy to see if repairs are covered.
Your outlet may need replacing. I have been replacing all the outlets here, the installer did not attach the power wires to the screw on the outlet, he just jammed them into a hole in it, the lazy way.
Plug something into the same outlet, if it runs slow or dim, that's your problem.
Turn off the breaker before you mess with an outlet.
If there is not lights or anything in the refrigerator, then you aren't getting power. Start out checking the outlet - if you don't have a multimeter to check it, use a hair dryer plugged in to that outlet to see if it will work. If it doesn't then it is between that outlet and the main circuit breaker box or even a bad circuit breaker.
If it does work or you have lights in your refrigerator it is probably either the starting capacitor, start relay or compressor.
LG refrigerators are more sensitive to power fluctuations than other models and we have had to replace a lot of starting caps and relays - but sometimes it is the compressor.
It could be a loose connection where the power cord is connected to the refrigerator inside or a bad power cord. If that doesn't solve the problem you may consider calling a repair person. Good Luck, GilShultz
First , check if is power in the outlet where the fridge is plugged in by plugging something you know works (table light , radio, etc.) , if it doesn't work , means there's not power at the outlet what could be a trpped breaker , burnt fuse , burnt or loose wire at the outlet, or a bad outlet ; but if you got power in the outlet , probably the fridge cord or its plug are bad.
