  1. Check the IPL for your saw to see if any special tools are needed. Poulan (Craftsman, Jonsered, Husky) clutch removal tool part number 530031112 if needed, is under $5 from many sources (look at the visible area between the weights if 2 small round sockets are visible you need the tool).
  2. There are metal piston stops available, when square (almost never) with the piston top these work well, if not square they have been known to punch through the piston. I suggest a length of nylon rope (nothing left behind) be used instead of the piston stop (retain 6" ± so you can remove it). Make sure the piston is near the top of the cylinder before feeding the cord or it can fall through the exhaust port and damage the piston as it rises.
  3. Everyone I have ever removed had a left handed thread (tighten it to loosen it).

Can anyone tell me the name of the nylon cog that drives the chain on the electric chainsaw

Though I've never worked on an electric saw, I would think it should be referred to either as a 'spur' sprocket or a 'rim' sprocket just like what they are called on a gas fired saw.

Replace sprocket on rancher 460

The factory do not offer a rim sprocket for the 455/460, they are classed as semi pro saws and as such get a spur sprocket, there may be an Oregon after market one available.

How do you replace spur sprocket on a 038ab stihl chaninsaw? how do you remove the sprocket that is over to the right of the spur sprocket?

To remove the sprocket on this saw you must remove the oiler gear that sits in the way. Remove the mounting screws for the oiler gear plate and you are home free.
I hope it helps

look for parts at a local dealer like www.arcolawn.com

My chainsaw starts when there is no bar and chain on it but when I put the bar chain and side casing back on tighten the chain and pull the starter cord it is hard to pull and then the chain goes loose...

Have you just replaced the chain?
If so there is a possibility the chain and drive sprocket don't match causing the engaging spurs to ride on the sprocket teeth

Changing clutch drum on a husqvarna 455e rancher chainsaw

You have a couple of options. Oregon offers both rim and spur sprockets to fit your saw. Rim systems are initially more expensive but replacing just the rim portion is less expensive than 2 spur sprockets.

Your saw has an outboard clutch, this is a very guide for removal:
