Question about Bose QuietComfort 3 Acoustic Noise Cancelling Consumer Headphones

1 Answer

Left head set cuts in and out. You can touch the out side and sometimes it connects. Seems like a short just underneath the cover. Do you know how to take the outside cover off to view? Thanks,

These headphones have a 1-year warranty from Bose. If the headphones are less than a year old - and you take the outside cover off - it may void the warranty.
-Just something to consider.

I installed a jvc kdr310 with a pioneer amp and single 12 in sub all worked well and as soon as i drove off less then a quarter of a mile down the road my head unit stopped functioning and said protect i...

the fact that the head unit cut out and went into protect implies that it probably has nothing to do with your pioneer amplifier. If i understood well the amplifier is running the sub woofer. If the speakers are running off the head unit check that there is no speaker cable touching metal causing a short. Sometimes while installing the speaker we don't realize that the speaker terminal can touch on the frame of the surface that it is secured to. If this surface is metal then you get a short, which then makes the head unit go into protect. There is also the possibility that a cable from behind the head unit has come lose or is bare in some place touching metal again. You see it is all usually about being shorted. Without knowing exactly how everything is installed, this is the best i can do. I hope this helps. dreamsystems

Check error

Try the following steps

1. Unplug power
2. USING THE FINGER HOLDS ON EITHER SIDE, lock scanner cover into open position
DO NOT TOUCH THE ENCODER STRIP (clear plastic strip in front of the white vinyl band)
3. Remove jammed paper/foreign objects (check under the print head; if the print head is in the middle, slide it to the either the left or the right side, & check for paper scraps underneath the print head)
[IF WHEN THE SCANNER COVER WAS OPENED, THE PRINT HEAD IS ON THE LEFT SIDE]
4. Move the print head to the middle
5. With the print head in the middle, remove any ripped paper/foreign objects from the left corner (SINCE THE RIPPED PAPER COULD BE VERY SMALL, USE A FLASHLIGHT TO INSPECT)
6. Close the scanner cover & plug the machine back into the power outlet
[PERSISTENCE OF THIS ERROR MESSAGE OR NO PAPER SCRAPS/FOREIGN OBJECTS FOUND MEANS THAT THE ENCODER STRIP WILL REQUIRE CLEANING]
[IF WHEN THE SCANNER COVER WAS OPENED, THE PRINT HEAD IS ON THE RIGHT SIDE]
7. Plug the power cord back into the power outlet...LCD will show "Cover is Open"
8. Press Stop/Exit for approximately 5 seconds until the print head moves to the middle
9. UNPLUG MACHINE FROM POWER OUTLET
10. USE A FLASHLIGHT & TWEEZERS TO INSPECT: Remove any debris from the right corner
11. USING THE FINGER HOLDS ON EITHER SIDE, close scanner cover & plug machine into power outlet
[PERSISTENCE OF THIS ERROR MESSAGE OR NO PAPER SCRAPS/FOREIGN OBJECTS FOUND MEANS THAT THE ENCODER STRIP WILL REQUIRE CLEANING]

TO CLEAN THE ENCODER STRIP... (clear plastic strip in front of the white vinyl band)
[Markings & debris can adhere on the surface of encoder strip FROM HAND CONTACT &/OR GREASE CONTACT INCURRED FROM REMOVAL OF JAMMED PAPER]
DO NOT USE FLAMMABLE SUBSTANCES NOR ANY TYPE OF SPRAY TO CLEAN INSIDE/OUTSIDE MACHINE
1. Unplug machine from power outlet
2. USING THE FINGER HOLDS ON EITHER SIDE, lock scanner cover into open position
3. Clean both sides of encoder WITH ONLY A DRY, LINT-FREE CLOTH
DO NOT FORCEFULLY PULL ON ENCODER STRIP
DO NOT TOUCH ENCODER STRIP WITH BARE HANDS
DO NOT FORCEFULLY SCRUB ENCODER STRIP (THAT COULD SCRATCH ITS SURFACE)
4. Clean encoder strip from right to left--stopping just before the left corner
5. Clean encoder strip from left to right--stopping just before the right corner
6. Repeat steps 5 & 6 two or three times to clean thoroughly
7. After cleaning encoder strip, USE FINGER HOLDS TO close scanner cover
8. Plug machine back into power outlet.

Hi,
It seems like it could be a problem with the lower limit switch. Is there a way for you to replace that switch? If so, I'd start there.
Is there a shaft or some mechanical way of contacting the limit switch at the bottom of the stroke? If so, check to see that the piece is secure, and making contact with the limit switch as it should at the bottom of the stroke.

Sounds like you need to try reseating the lvds cables on the t-con board. This board is located at the top of the set in the center. You will have to remove the metal shield covering the board. Then you will see to flat cables connected to the board, one for each side of the screen.carefully unlock the connectors and remove and replace the cables. If this does not work you will need a new t-con board.I'm not sure about this particular model but sometimes the t-con board is only available as part of the lcd panel assembly.Good luck!

I turn on the machine, and the light just blinks on and off...no sound of water heating as with my other senseo. I took off the back, and all of the wires seem to be connected.

at the side of the machine by the water level you will see a float, sometimes this float gets stuck, use a magnet on the outside of the machine to connect with the magnet in the float and then slowly slide the magnet upwards, the float will follow the magnet and the light will flash slowly and the water will heat, if the light continues to flash rapidly you have not connected with the magnet - try again

Signal lights work when they want to.

It seems you have an electrical short somewhere. Unfortunately these are not easy to diagnose. Look for any broken or frayed wiring. With the lights on, flex the wiring harness in and around the areas that connect to each light to see if you can make the light go on and off.

I have a Samsung LN32A550 LCD TV. When I turn on my TV, there is a dark rectangular strip 3 1/2 inch in width on the left side of the screen. It is not that obvious, but noticeable. The strip does not go...

One thing you can try IF you know how to work with electronics.
Unplug and remove back cover. Remove the metal cover on the LCD Controller card. (it near the top of set) You may have to disconnect the top of the "H" frame to get to it. Disconnect and carefully re-connect the flat ribbon cable for the left side of the display. (The right side is good so don't touch it.) The connector for the flat ribbons will flip up to release the ribbon. The ribbon is short so this is tricky to do right. You may need a small plastic tool to help. Dont' break the connector. With the card back in place check if the band is still present. If vertical lines appear on the display, unplug and reposition the cable again until they are gone.
Don't touch the contacts on the connectors.
Re-assemble the set. No parts should be left over !!
LCD Controllers for this set are for sale on eBay if need.
