Do not format the disk, if there is something on the disk, just open the folder and delete everything just like it was a regular folder.
Depends what you use to burn with, if you use windows, if it needs to be formatted windows will do it. Disks are not like hard drives, you shouldn't format them, or sd cards. Just erase the data, the only time you should format anything is before loading a operating system and changing
a hard drive or flash drive from say FAT to NTFS.
If you feel you really need to format, just rt click on the drive letter and in the list you will see format.
