Check all your wired connections, make sure they are good and connected correctly. Power off both modem and router and then plug modem in first and then router. Do this with the PC turned off. Then power on your PC and check your connection.

Slow download speed

Hi Mimi,
If you haven't checked to make sure your computer is free of malware, sometimes it can slow down your internet downloads. Here are a few programs I'd suggest you install and run:
  • ESET Online Scanner (scans from the web, will take a while)
  • SuperAntiSpyware (download and install)
  • Malwarebytes (download and install)

ESET will scan your computer this one time, and may take an hour or more. SAS and MWB will reside on your computer and can be run every couple weeks. Make sure you always run the updates before you scan with them. There are always a lot of things that can effect your Internet download speed.
Malware infection is just one of the common things that effects Internet Speed. Let us know a little more, like... did your connection recently slow down (used to be lot faster)? Is your computer slow overall? Or did this just start?

Hello!
I suggest you check out your internet speed. Such an issue appears when the connection is slow and your video cannot work fine. Please, go to www.speedtest.net and run your speed test:
  • For a great performance in a video call, connection of 512kb/sec is required, though with 256kb/sec and less is very bad. In case your connection is too slow, it is best that you contact your internet provider.
  • Few more things you can do to improve your computer speed:
  1. Run "Disc Cleanup": click Start and type Disc Cleanup in the search box, press Enter.
Choose both (C:) and (D:) partition and run cleanup.
  2. Run "Disc Defragmenter": click Start and type Disc Defragmenter in the search box, press Enter and click "Defragment".
  3. To improve your connection if you use wireless, try moving your computer closer to you Wireless Router Device, or connect the computer directly to the device using USB cable.
Note: Each camera requires different Operating System, internet connection speed, computer memory, etc.
For Logitech C210 web camera specifications, please visit: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/webcam-communications/webcams/devices/7022 and compare is all the requirements are satisfied in you case.

Hope you will find this useful.
Best regard!

Ethernet speed changes from normal to zero

If you have high speed internet go to your ISP webpage and do a speed test. If You are paying for say like 10 MEGS and are only pulling 1.2 Megs. It probably is your modem. Your speed will slow down to approx 7.5 behind a router. Also Your ethernet cable might need replacing. might also might try resetting your router. disconnect all power even the cable comming in and reset everything. Hope that helps.

Very slow and intermittent wireless internet connection

I seem to have solved the problem by downloading the driver from Asus directly.

http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

I pulled out my Asus card, looked up the card model and downloaded the correct driver. Looks like the windows update or the Dell update must have caused the driver to get whacked. Hope this fixes your issue as well.

Speeding up internet

Here are a few suggestions on how to speed connection:

- Move router or pc location if possible. Closer = better connection usually

- Try changing the channel your router is broadcasting on. Sometimes there are slower channels and faster channels in heavy traffic area

- If you have any toolbars in your browser (i.e., yahoo or google), remove them. Those toolbars use up resources that can slow you down.

- Delete cookies and internet files

If these don't work, post a comment on here with your operating systems on laptop and desktop and router type.
