could be, colour change is typical of a pj lamp expiring.
check first the connection lead between pc and pj
to make sure pj is seeing all signal pins on sub d lead.
check pj with video sig input, if thisis ok it's not the lamp failing

When I connect a laptop to my HP VP6310 projector via VGA cable there is a pink tint to any image that should be white. However, when I plug a DVD or other device to it everything is fine. I've tried this with 2 different laptops and got the same problem.

I replaced the bulb on my InFocus ScreenPlay 5000. The unit turns on the picture is showing a little green while the light warms up. After about a minute, the light turns off but the project remains on as if nothing is wrong. After about 30 seconds the light comes back on. The second time the light comes on, it seems brighter. When the light is bright and the picture is good quality, the light remains on. When the light is a little dark, it seems to turn off. This may happen several times until the light remains on. Sometimes it never happens. The projector comes on and works fine. When the light does turn off, I cannot power down the projector until the light comes back on. Any help on this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
