I would suggest doing the following:
1. In the software, click "Downloads", and click "Firmware"
2. After the remote has updated the firmware, click "Update Remote"

If that does not get the glow light working, then it is a hardware issue. If you are still in warranty you can call the wonderful support team to get the remote replaced.

I hope I was able to answer your question.

How do I determine if the problem is with the remote (batteries are good) or the sensor in the tv

This is very cool!!

26116677-r4iitvkuywjhngk5uhbqbbut-5-0.jpg Using a camera or cell phone point the remote at the camera and observe if a light dot is visible. It will work with a video camera.

If no dot check another remote to confirm that the camera will pick up the invisible light?

Well any way no dot no work. Take he part number off the remote and go google for a replacement.

It is not likely to be the sensor on the TV.

Also check the batteries and their connection in the remote. Contact resistance is a common problem.

Hope this helps?

Cannot enter system wizard in Dish Network VIP211k

Hey Jim,

I apologize for any confusion. Our 211k receivers don't have the system wizard option. That feature is on the 222k/722k/922/Hopper receivers.

Let's check out the remote to see what can be done! If the remote is no longer working, make sure there is nothing that can cause interference like a heat source near the receiver, or direct sunlight on the receiver. If that's all clear, try readdressing the remote. I have listed the steps below!

Addressing Remote to Receiver:

1.) Go to System Info screen.
2.) Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
3.) Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
4.) Press the pound (#) button.
5.) Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record.
6.) Test remote and see if it works.

If the problem continues, let me know and I will be happy to assist you further!

The original is no longer available. The only choice you will have is to purchase a universal remote control. You can pick them up at most electronic retailers and also places like CVS, Good luck : )

Remote control no longer responds for Konka K2001UM

You can test the remote by holding it very close to an AM radio receiver and pushing the buttons on the remote. You may have to tune the radio accross the AM bamd to pick up the remote's signal. You should hear a popping sound each time a button is pressed. You need to hold the remote near the tuner of the AM radio. If you can't pick up a signal then you need to replace the remote. If you do pick up a signal then possibly the remote receiver in your TV is bad or the remote is not putting out the proper IR signal. Stargazer
