SOURCE: Ice Maker Won't Stop Making Ice

There is an adjustment for the "harvest" bar (The bar you lifted up). That bar you are lifting up tells the ice-maker that the cubes have fallen into the ice storage and starts the ice-making cycle over. It is also the Limit switch for the ice level in the storage container ... if it stays up for preset time determined by the manufacturer it stops making ice... most all ice-machines use the same devices. they vary little in design. Sometimes you can just gently bend the bar down to the point where it turns-off the machine at the level you want ... unless you can get to the adjustment hinge you can adust it there. For the fact it goes off when you lift it all the way up tells me the harvest switch is turning the ice-maker off.

SOURCE: ice maker sensor arm

the arm is hung up on a srcrew that is on the divider wall to the right of the icemaker pull the arm off the screw. The icemaker is a mechanical one so the arm will not just drop down so put the ice bucket back in and turn the icemaker back in the control panel further problem call customer service for assistance for over the phone help 1 800 222 7820 they will be glad to assist their customers unlike other manufactures.

SOURCE: ice maker stopped

Hi!
Please check these:
It may be turned off. Look for the wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If the wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. If so, try one of these:
If your ice maker has a small red plastic lever, lower it to lower the wire.
If there's no plastic lever, simply lower the wire.
In either case, the ice maker should begin producing ice again. Also make sure that the temperature is 8 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. If the freezer is too warm, the ice maker won't cycle properly.
The ice maker fill tube may be blocked with ice. If so, melt the blockage using a hair dryer-but be careful to not melt any plastic parts! Also replace the water shut-off valve or water-inlet valve, or both, if necessary.
The ice maker head assembly may have broken parts. Look to see if the gears are broken. Check to see if the small plastic arms that rest against the ice rake are broken. If the ice maker head assembly is modular and you've found broken parts, you can just replace it.
Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

SOURCE: Ice maker stopped working

Good day,
A step by step procedure should resolve your problem. If the dispenser is working, you can skip that step.

First step is to take a small paper cup of water and fill the cavity until it is near full. With the ice maker turned on, close freezer door and wait 3 hours to see if it harvests. If not, the ice maker is bad, and must be replaced. If the cubes harvest then.......
Three possibilities.
1. The water supply from the house is not delivering water to the water valve. Shut off the house at the meter, disconnect the line going to the water valve, and with the line pointed into a bucket, have someone turn the valve back on for a 15 second count. The water should come out smartly. If not, the line and it's fittings will have to be replaced.
2. The fill tube from the back of the machine that feeds water into the back of the ice maker is frozen up. You will have to remove the ice maker to visually inspect that tube. If blocked, it needs to be defrosted, but use caution. Too much heat too fast will start to melt plastic and vinyl parts you don't want melted.
If this is the case, then once cleaned out, you will have to change the water valve located in the back bottom rear of the machine because it is leaking during the off cycle.
3. If everything checks O.K. up to this point, you will have to purchase and install a new water valve, and install it.
P.S. Under very rare occasions the electric circuity in the ice maker will fail to send a signal to the water valve. Although rare, it can happen, in which case the best option is to replace the ice maker and water valve.

Frigidaire FRS6LR5E ice maker won't stop making ice

Ice maker wire signal arm is being held down by some item in the freezer. Move item and release wire signal arm. Any ice cubes that are frozen together over the wire signal arm. the ice rises in the ice bucket and pushes the wire signal arm up and this is what stops ice production as ice is used then arm comes down and starts ice production all over again. if there is nothing holding arm down then you will need to replace ice maker.

Ice maker stopped working. Arm seems stuck

Check to see if your vanes are iced in as the heater element in your ice maker may be on the fritz. This means that you may have to replace your ice maker. Take a hair dryer and direct the heat to the ice tray for a while to see if the ice will thaw enough to allow the ice maker vanes to rotate and re lift the stop arm. If this works and it refreezes again and will not ezect the ice cubes then the ice maker will have to be replaced.

Ice maker won't stop making ice. We put the metal flip facing up and it just keeps making ice. It should stop...right?

If the arm is up and locked in position, it should stop the ice maker. check that the bail arm is indeed pushed into the ice maker head, you will likely have to remove the ice maker with the 1-3 screws holding it in place, to see it. Check also that the other end of the bail arm is attached near the fill cup, if its not attached, that could be the reason. If the arm does not appear to lock in the upright position, or if it does and still does not stop ice production, you will need to replace the ice maker

My ice marker will not stop making ice the arm

This problem is going to be the ice maker itself. The arm you are talking about is the shut-off mechanism for the ice machine. Just before the ice machine starts to make ice, the arm slowly rises. Then the arm falls down, if there is ice blocking the arm from falling all the way down it will not make ice because there is plenty! If the arm is able to fall down completely, the ice machine will make ice like normal. If your ice maker is making ice regardless of the arms position, something is wrong with the ice maker. Depending on who replaces this, it could cost anywhere from $100 to $200.

Kitchenaid KSCS250SS not producing ice

From my experience, a frozen water line coming into the icemaker indicates a bad water valve/solenoid.

The solenoid is usually located at the bottom of the rear of the unit.

The icemaker arm could be a culprit if it was detached somehow, and was really in the stop mode. But, that would not cause the ice build up in the water tube.
