Replace your mouse... it's symptomatic of it being faulty. If it is USB, though, sometimes plugging things in & out can cause the USB bus to Hang.

First, unplug the USB dongle on the computer for 10 seconds and then plug it back in.

Second, If it still does not work, make sure you have a good battery in the mouse itself and that the switch is in the ON position.

Third, if it still doesn't work, try the First step again, but plug the USB dongle into a different USB port on the computer.

Finally, completely shut down your computer and start it up again. If none of the above works, you probably have a defective mouse.

Mouse suddenly stopped working

1: Make sure the battery or batteries in your mouse are good.
2: If there is a USB dongle plugged into a USB port on your computer, unplug it, wait 3 or 4 seconds and plug it back in.
3: If the above two steps don't work, shut down your computer completely and start it back up again.

Try draining the power of the computer first. completely shut it down by pressing poweer button for like 5-7 sec. then unplug power supply from the outlet. then press and hold power button for another 15-20 sec. After that, plug back in the power cord, and turn computer on normally.

Mouse Stops Responding

You need to reset the mouse and keyboard to the sensor. On the sensor(base) you should have a button and under the mouse you should have also a button. Press the sensor(base) button first and quickly the one under the keyboard and mouse. If the doesn't work shut down the system, unplug the mouse and keyboard sensor(base) and re-plug it back in . Start the system and try the process again.

Computer well not boot

The computer may have done a routine software update that automatically reboots the PC when complete. HP is known for this. If it fires up when you turn it on, no worries. If its DOA then thats another issue. Best regards.

Mouse has power but just sits in middle of screen

Has the computer been ON all the time? What type of mouse is it, PS2 (round plug) or USB (flat plug). If it is PS2 and it got unplugged, it will not work again until you power the system down, make sure the mouse is properly connected and then start the system again. The mouse should be detected and operated normally once the OS is up and running.

Good luck and please let me know how it works out for you.

I unplugged the "adapter" (not sure that is the right word) from the computer and then realized it was the connector for my wireless Microsoft InteliMouse Explorer 2.0 Model 1007 and I now can not get it...

Try unplugging the Mouse again, then take the Power Lead out the back of the PC, and leave it to stand for a few mins atleast. Then plug the USB Mouse back in, plug the Power Lead back into back of PC and Boot Up. That should work for you.
