I just got a digital cable package through my cable company. I need to program the remote for the cable box for my tv too, but I've tried the codes that the cable company have listed in with the user guide for the remote and it's still not working. I've miss placed my tv maual, do you know of any other codes for a Protron TV?
The codes for the 32' Protron are 1004 or 1011. However be aware that this may disable your defaults permanently. When we had the cable installed they changed the codes but on doing so, the TV was useless. On power up the led will go from red to green, then go back to red instead of giving a source option. Customer service is agravating and useless; this is Chinese company that is using the name ProtRon to ride on the better make of Proton. We bought it through ShopNBC, definitely a big mistake since they are of no help either. We have taken the TV to a repair shop; they say its a main board but they are having extreme difficulty getting help from Protron; only delays and excuses. There are more issues riding on all this that has prompted my wife and I to seek a class action.

I, too, am unable to program the new digital universal remote to interact with my Protron TV. The universal remote will change the channels, but I need to turn the TV on/off and control the volume with my Protron remote.
This is a big pain. Protron needs to find a solution to this problem....promptly.
