What amperage does a "Whistler 1610" Radar detector take? I am buying a cord at radioshack and i don't know what kind of power cord to get.

All Whistler radar detectors operate on 12 volts. Non factory power cords should have at least a 2 amp fuse and have the center tip of the plug positive.

Looking for a replacement power cord for whistler 680 model

Call Whistler at 800-531-0004 and ask for the power cord with the large plug on it. This is the type required for this model.

I have a Whistler 35 R and the adapter that plugs into the cigarette lighter fell apart. I would like to get a new adapter, but do not know the voltage/amp specs. Can you help with that?

All Whistler's that are not battery powered run on 12 volts with the center tip postive. You can order a power cord by calling 800-531-0004 or whistler's online store at www.whistlergroup.com.

Where to mount a 680 for best protection

Anywhere on the dash or on the windshield as long as the unit is level with the road. Now, you know that this model does not pick up the full Ka band (only 34.3) and it doesn't detect laser.

Touch screen not responsive Garmin 680

The cable to the touch sensitive part of the screen may have come loose (easily happens if knocked).

Try taking the unit apart (with care and the right type of screwdriver) and reseating the connector cable.

Once you've done this you may need to recalibrate the screen. Holding the power switch down will get you to the reboot / recalibrate screen.

But of course this will probably invalidate your warranty so beware.

My Treo 680 automatically turns back on when I turn it off.

I wish I could say exactly how the problem was fixed. I just know that after I was using the calculator I set the 680 down and it shut off automatically. It now seems it was in some type of endless loop, one that I couldn't get out of even after taking my battery out multiple times. The Treo 680 does have freezing type problems that I wish could be fixed... Maybe it is my Tealphone 3rd party software or something like that??
